Dear Customer, The water filter is located in the base grille of the refrigerator. To replace the filter catridge one will simply need to press the eject button to the left of the filter and pull the filter from the grille by holding the filter cap. The filter cap will twist off of the old filter and twist onto the new filter before it is installed. Thank you for your inquiry regarding your Whirlpool refrigerator!
