- Answer LARGE! Of all the units we looked at, this frig had the largest of the ice bins. This was a definite reason for us picking this unit as we use LOTS of ice. My wife and I run our son's $2500 frig out of ice every day when we visit him. This bin holds close to 10 pounds I would say. AND it has a metal auger. Our last GE unit had a plastic auger which broke no less than three times in twelve years.

QuestionI have a whirlpool side by side fridge. Should the temperature bars be lit all the time? Or only when you are changing the temp?

- Answer The temp bar don't stay on all the time, be careful when getting ice or water from the dispenser, I had accidentally touched the temperature control for my refrigerator and ended up with frozen food inside of my refrigerator. The light for the ice stays on. You are correct the temperature setting only comes on when you set it
