I keep a thermometer in my fridge all the time. Mine has also stopped working properly 4 times. First time was less than a year after purchase. 1000.00s of dollars lost in food.

The new refrigerators are starting to come with digital settings but, are leaving out the digital thermometer reading. These units have to know what the temp is so why aren't they telling us what the temp is so we can protect ourselves from spoiled food. Same happened to our family with our Whirlpool. $3,000 refrigerator and no temp read-out is suspect. DON'T buy a refrigerator that does not have a temperature read out and make sure it is not just a digital setting! LIsa, I hope you got rid of your lemon.
