• Hi Donna, you will have to use HE Detergent, however this particular model does have the deep wash option. This unit does adhere to current EPA standards however it is not listed as a "High Efficiency" model. We hope this helps!

• It was explained to me that it is HE High Efficiency because it selects the water level. However we didn't get the FL tax free because of the removable agitator and also when you can add more water to the wash load. That sort of cancels out the HE tax benefit we thought we would get.
