A:AnswerYour oven vent is at the back of the range top releasing excess heat and moisture from the oven. Don't block that. I bake bread at 495-500 degrees F. and do have some warmth on the counter tops adjacent to the range, but nothing that concerns me. Certainly the oven door glass gets hot, but I have not had problems with the door handle.
A:AnswerHi grammy, To Bake or Roast: 1. Press BAKE. Press TEMP/TIME or TEMP/HOUR “up” or
“down” arrow pads to set a temperature other than 350°F (175°C) in 5° amounts. The bake range can be set between 170°F and 500°F (75°C and 260°C). 2. Press START or START/ENTER.
The temperature can be changed at any time after this step by pressing the Temp/Time or Temp/Hour “up” or “down” arrow pads. Start does not need to be pressed again. If baking/roasting while the Timer is counting down, the set baking/roasting temperature can be displayed for 5 seconds by pressing Bake. 3. Press Cancel, OFF/CANCELor CANCEL/OFF when finished.
A:AnswerI make it a habit to not have anything else in the oven when baking. Sure, there are two sections but why take a chance of having a pan or items in one section. Things csn get hot regardless. The broiler button is near the bake button and can be clicked by accident. Not saying this is what happened in your situation, just what I've noticed with my oven.
A:AnswerShorty312, the recommended light bulb for this Range is W10888179 which can be found at our parts website, www.repairclinic.com. Hopefully, this information is beneficial to you. Thank you for your inquiry regarding our Whirlpool Appliances!

A:AnswerBoth the oven and stovetop of this model are gas [comes set for natural gas and can be changed to propane]. However, one of the safety features on newer gas ovens prevent them from igniting if there is no power. The stovetop burners can be lit with a match or lighter in a power outage, but the oven can not.
A:AnswerMake sure the vent is not blocked in any way. I bake bread at 495-500 degrees F., and it gets hot under the vent, but is isn't much different than my old range, and that never damaged the control panel.
Hope that helps
