Very normal for first time use, mine did the same for the first few times to b exact.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.We had our Whirlpool stove delivered and the installer turned on the oven and all the burners to High and instructed to leave it that way for an hour. I presume it was to burn off any manufacturing residue.
