I really don't know other than some sort of marketing idea. But I do know we have only the machine a month or so far it has been is great. It is very quite and has saved a lot of propane as the spin cycle gets the laundry very dry, and it has cut the drying time on half.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Whirlpool and Maytag are not the same washers. Check the energy it takes to use a Maytag verses a Whirlpool. Whirlpool does make Kenmore for Sears. The Whirlpool is a very efficient Washing Machine.
