“Is there any other silverware basket that will fit this machine, as the openings to hold the flatware are too narrow. I know I can remove the plastic inserts, but that kind of defeats the purpose of holding the flatware in an upright position. The holes are not very wide at all, and there's no reason I should have to go out and purchase new flatware.”

I leave the flatware lid up and just put the utensils in loosely. They stay in ok. Works for me.
