“With the minimum 20 inch width, does it keep both holes open at 20 inches? My windows are 30 inches wide. Am I going to have a problem with the closest of the two holes being closed when installing the window unit?”

  The 20" width is the width of the panel with the hose cut outs. Since your window is slightly larger, you will most likely need to cut one of the solid panels to accommodate your window.
