“Does this unit have a pump or is it drained by gravity. The specifications indicate that it does have a pump, but answered questions says it only drains by gravity? If that spec is wrong, can I trust any of them?”

NO, you can never trust the specs. Features and specs people are two unconnected divisions and neither one knows what the other is doing. Just like the upper model that has a defrost feature that "keeps the water in bucket from frosting over" NO, the water on the coil freezes, if the water in the bucket froze, you need a completely different machine, also know as furnace.
