QuestionWhat is the purpose of having 2 fan speeds? Does the higher speed remove moisture from the air faster?

  The main purpose of the dual fan speeds is to have the ability to circulate the air in the room faster. Please note, the higher fan speed may be able to remove the moisture from the air faster.

QuestionDoes this unit have a pump or is it drained by gravity. The specifications indicate that it does have a pump, but answered questions says it only drains by gravity? If that spec is wrong, can I trust any of them?

- Answer NO, you can never trust the specs. Features and specs people are two unconnected divisions and neither one knows what the other is doing. Just like the upper model that has a defrost feature that "keeps the water in bucket from frosting over" NO, the water on the coil freezes, if the water in the bucket froze, you need a completely different machine, also know as furnace.

QuestionCan this unit be connected to a garden hose and drain directly into a flower bed outside of the area being dehumidified? If not, is there any other means of direct outside discharge? Is it an Energy Star unit? Apparently not but I wish to be certain.

- Answer Yes a garden hose can be connected. It won't discharge if it has to go uphill. It is Energy Star rated. Great unit!
