“Can the camera be turned on and off from the camera or is the app required?”

• You can run the camera without using the app, but you will not get alerts ,but you do need to use the app to program the device, if you do not use the app you will need to buy probably a 52MB memory card or so that it would last you a week before it turns over because without the phone app you would have to view it manually by removing the memory card from the camera and inserting it into another device. Where as the phone app the alerts get directly sent to your phonot to your phone and you can view or not view depending upon whether or not you have any problems problems
