Hello there! Thanks for your question, the camera has a 130-degree field of view. It starts to detect motion from 50-60 feet, or a bit more, it really depends on the area, lighting conditions. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.So our driveway is about 40ft from the edge of the house (where the camera is). With motion detection on I would get pinged for cars sometimes. Larger trucks mostly. I was super annoyed until i found out you can "draw a box" of the area you want defection to be monitored. So I literally dragged my finger over the section of driveway and front walk area I wanted and now I dont get spammed w motion alerts
