“I have the LG OLED CX and the Xbox Series X and I am having issues getting the HBO Max app on the Xbox to play Dolby Vision content. My TV's native apps play it fine, but not on HBO Max via the app. It also won't play Atmos content either. Any ideas?”

At this time, HBO Max is offering 4K UHD with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos support on one offering, Wonder Woman 1984, and through select devices. It may not currently be available in this format through Xbox Series X.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.OP here - I identified why I was having so many issues getting Dolby content to work. One has to install the Dolby Access app on the Xbox for the Xbox to recognize an Atmos compatible sound system and in-turn play Atmos content. Furthermore, this also seems to fix many of the issues wherein the Xbox wouldn't play Dolby Vision either. Unfortunately, Microsoft is right in that HBO Max doesn't really support either at the current moment. Also, Xbox's native 4K player doesn't play Dolby Vision (confirmed via a recent Forbes article). At least though the Dolby Access app fixed a lot of the streaming issues.
