Refunding pre-orders. Why is that? null

Same happened to me today. On 9/22 around 2pm I finally was able to pre order the Series X. Later on that day, around 6pm I noticed the Series S was still available to pre order, so I went ahead and pre ordered that for my girlfriend. Today, I get 2 text notifications saying that each order, the X and the S is confirmed. Then I get a text about payment processing issues for the X order, then a text saying they cancelled my X pre order. I'm highly unhappy.
