I bought a 5600xt card in 2020 and was offered an extended warranty protection. I went ahead and bought one as well.

"The crypto-miners would come in, buy the cards with a protection plan, burn them up mining bitcoins, then return them for a full refund..." and no, when I bought my card in the store, there were no protection plans offered, even with my requesting one. I don't agree with this, but I can completely understand their stance in light of the current GPU situation.
