• PCIe Gen is motherboard chipset dependent, not CPU (a few rare exceptions). X570 and B550 will both give you gen 4 graphics slots with AM4. But it should still work at Gen3, just not optimally perhaps. https://www.amd.com/en/products/processors/chipsets/am4.html#specs

• Yes it will however anything before the 5000 series AMD CPUs will be limited to PCIe 3 speeds so you will be losing some performance if you do not have a 5000 series CPU
