Most subwoofers are in their own box, with their own amplifier, so they can run from the line level signal provided from this receiver. Of course, you don't have to use a subwoofer if your main speakers provide enough bass.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Nope, just plug up to 2 in and rock and roll
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This has (2) line level outputs for subwoofer(s). You will need a powered subwoofer. There are speaker connections for 9 speakers, but only 7 can be active at any one time.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You will need to purchase a subwoofer, this unit can support 2 subwoofers. For my setup I'm using the Klipsch R-10SW subwoofer. To have a 7.1 channel setup you can use the Klipsch R-10SW, R-25C center, R-15M Bookshelf for side/rear, and R-28F/R-26F for front or rear speakers. Best Buy has these Klipsch speakers half off on Black Friday, but some are still on sale. Here's Best Buys link to the speakers: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/searchpage.jsp?&id=pcat17071&type=page&ks=960&st=categoryid%24abcat0205000&sc=Global&cp=1&sp=-bestsellingsort+skuidsaas&qp=brand_facet%3DSAAS~Brand~Klipsch&list=y&usc=All+Categories&nrp=15&fs=saas&iht=n&seeAll=&browsedCategory=abcat0205000
