I believe it is 6-8 ohm stable, no need to adjust any setting. It will actually make more power at 6 ohms.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. For both the Yamaha RX-V781 and RX-V681 under the "ADVANCED SETUP MENU" select "Change Speaker Impedance". You can go from a 8 oms speaker system to a 6 oms speaker system. See Page 128/129 of the Owners Manual. I have not tried this because I have a definitive 8 oms speaker system. According to the manual, under the 6 oms speaker system, you can also use 4 oms speakers as the Front Speakers.

I recommend 4k mode 1 if you have a 4k tv with HDR default is set to mode 2.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This Yamaha receiver can easily drive 6 ohm speakers. It's rated for 4 ohms in the front two and 6 ohms for the rest. I'm using it with 4 ohm speakers and it sounds great. Note that there is an initial setting that you set to 6 ohms when any speaker is 6 ohms or less. Instructions are in the manual. I'm pretty sure it only affects the power management and limit circuits. It sounded the same before and after changing this setting. Personally, I would set it for 6 ohms regardless of the speaker rating.
