Now when you say hook up, are you meaning to make the tv sound come thru the receiver or the display?
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I would use HDMI connections for everything. Connect cable or sat. box, game console, blue ray player, etc. to HDMI inputs on Yamaha, then HDMI cable from Yamaha monitor out to TV HDMI input. Use Yamaha remote to select desired source input (cable or sat box, bluray, etc) on Yamaha to watch and use the TV remote to select the HDMI input on the TV that the cable from the Yamaha is plugged into.

You can also use the receiver in standby switch mode, where it will switch from its HDMI inputs to feed your television even with the receiver off. Does this help?
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Usually you just run a HDMI cable from the line out on the receiver to the HDMI 1 input on the back of the tv. However, if you have a 4K smart Samsung tv, you may have to use HDMI 2 on the back of the tv because it is the only hdcp 2.2 compliant input on some Samsung models. Check with Samsung to determine this.
