“The Specs say this has 60 frames per second pass through. My Samsung 8000 series tv has 120 (native). What is best way to connect Blue Ray or DVD player to avoid being limited to 60 frames per second? i.e. connect directly to tv and bypass the receiver ?”

If your player and TV have special modes and enough inputs, it's best to connect them directly. You may have to find another path for the audio signal. Some players have a second HDMI and some use optical cables or other connections. You may also be able to connect the signal from the tv output to the receiver. Just make sure whatever path you take supports the best surround modes.
