• Taking the legs off is a bad idea. Receivers need ventilation. If resting flat on a shelf a receiver can overheat.

• Yes but I wouldn’t recommend it as the receiver needs air to keep it cool. I put shorter feet from my old Onkyo receiver as I have space restrictions too. The height without feet is just shy of 6”.

• Yes. The install tech took off all 4 when he replaced my old Yamaha, but you can do it yourself by removing the 4 screws,(one for each foot).
