• 400 Watts is probably referring to the max wattage of the electricity that the unit will draw.

• I have looked at many pictures of this model RX-V685BL and nowhere on the back of the unit does it tell you what the watts are, so i dont know what you are looking at. but i would double check the model # which is RX-V685BL
