Yes, the 685 definitely supports 2 subwoofers. Two aren’t usually needed if the subwoofer chosen is powerful enough. It pays to do research in terms of room size before selecting a subwoofer. Even though two subwoofers aren’t needed, it’s wise to look for receivers which support two in case needs change in the future.
