what is pass-thru feature? what does it do for you? null

the pass through feature passes the video signal of what you have plugged into the receivers HDMI inputs, (Blu-ray, PS4, etc. ) along to what you have plugged into your HDMI output (HDTV).

I am guessing you are referring to the feature that allows your devices to plug into the receiver via the hdmi cable and the receiver passes through whichever input you select to the tv. You don't have to scroll through inputs on the tv anymore you can do both volume and input selection via the remote of the receiver. It's actually pretty nice.
