“Will this work with 30 year old Yamaha 3-way acoustic suspension 8 ohms speakers? The suggested amplifier power is minimum 10 watts and maximum 100 watts. The speakers sound magnificent but the AV-34 stereo amplifier is beginning to have issues.”

Absolutely! This thing defaults to 8-ohm, and I'm using even older Cambridge-made Acoustic Research speakers for the front channels. (Plus, it's nominal max power rating is 100Watts...) Go for it.
