I run Definitive Technology ST8080s for the front speakers, with the 8080 Center Channel. The two towers each have a 12 inch powered subwoofer, AND a 12 inch passive subwoofer. I also run a Definitive Technology SC4000 stand alone subwoofer. This isn't really needed, but it does add a little extra punch, and even my center channel has it's own powered subwoofer. My side and rear surrounds are DefTech 8060s bipolar surrounds and the Yamaha 2070 runs these speakers beautifully. I gave you all of that information because I am not familiar with the Klipsch R-28F's and figured that if you look up the specs on the DefTechs I'm running and compare those to the speakers you are looking at, you will have your answer. I'm sorry I cannot be more direct.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I was looking to buy a ait of Klipsch as well. This receiver will work just fine with those.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I am running R-28Fs, couple of Martin Logans motion 40 and Definitely Techs Pro center 1000, pro monitor 600 without issues! This puppy has plenty of power!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, these speakers are rated such that they will handle the power from the receiver with no problem. Like any set up, you need to understand that if you drive the amplifiers to their limits you will end up with distortion and this could damage the speakers. In this case you would need to be running the amp at the upper limits of it's capabilities. In most cases normal listening volumes are much lower than the amplifiers capabilities. The headroom allows for crisper music. Tight base and clean midranges and highs. I am sure this would be an awesome combination.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.it should, i have a pair of r-28s and a pair of r-26s. i have a total of 9 speakers system running off this receiver and it sounds sweet.. good luck.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes! I looked the R28's and they're rated at 150w RMS/600 Peak. The 2070 puts out an HONEST 140w per channel at 8 ohm at 0.06% THD. But if you want more headroom, it appears those speakers can be bi-amped. I did the same thing with my DefTech BP30s. Now I'm putting about 280w into those speakers and still have enough outputs to feed a 7.2 system with an open pair for another zone.
