QuestionI'm looking to purchase the Klipsch R-28 F speakers. Will this receiver have enough rms to drive the R-28 F's safely?

- Answer I run Definitive Technology ST8080s for the front speakers, with the 8080 Center Channel. The two towers each have a 12 inch powered subwoofer, AND a 12 inch passive subwoofer. I also run a Definitive Technology SC4000 stand alone subwoofer. This isn't really needed, but it does add a little extra punch, and even my center channel has it's own powered subwoofer. My side and rear surrounds are DefTech 8060s bipolar surrounds and the Yamaha 2070 runs these speakers beautifully. I gave you all of that information because I am not familiar with the Klipsch R-28F's and figured that if you look up the specs on the DefTechs I'm running and compare those to the speakers you are looking at, you will have your answer. I'm sorry I cannot be more direct.

Questionlooking to buy new a/v receiver was leaning toward the yamaha aventage 1070BL until i read an article the 2070BL . Just wondering i im wasting my money on getting the 2070 BL as i have tthe 7.1 setup or is still worth it in the big picture

- Answer I WAS IN THE SAME PROCESS YOU ARE NOT TO LONG AGO.I WAS GOING BACK AND FORTH READING AND READING BUSTING MY BRAIN ON WHICH ONE ,THEN FINALLY I DECIDED ON THE 2070 AND BROTHER AM I EVER SO GLAD I MADE THAT DECISION WHEN YOU FINALLY GET HER SET UP ,MAN THE SOUND ALL THE FEATURES!!! I WILL BE THE FIRST TO SAY IT IS WORTH EVER PENNY OF THE PRICE TAG AND THAT IS A LARGE PRICE TAG,I NEVER EVEN HAD BUYER'S REMORSE!!! GO GET THAT 2070 AND ENJOY HOPE THAT NELPED YOU

QuestionCan this unit run a 5.2 setup with Polk signature s60 s35 center and 2 s20 bookshelf speaker. Also 2 Polk hts 12 subs?

- Answer Yes! And you'll have outputs to spare. You can even run your S60's bi-amped. I'm running a 7.1 system with my mains bi-amped and I still have one more output for another zone or presence speakers. The receiver can be configured for dual subs as well. Hope this helps.

QuestionIs this receiver compatible with Polk RC80 in ceiling speakers? I am asking because the speakers are recommended to be used with 20w to 100 W amplifiers and this one has more power than that.

QuestionDoing some homework before upgrading my home theater to a 5.1.4 and have always used Yamaha receivers. People say that Denon produces higher fidelity and watts compared to Yamaha. Is there a big difference between these two brands?

- Answer The best answer is compare, try to listen both brands with movies or music that you like and get your on opinion. Best Buy / Magnolia can help you with that. They have the technical support and the equipment to allow you to compare. Use their quality and excellent support for that. Second, I had Onkyo / Yamaha / Denon / Sony and I was able to listen Pioneer / Mcintosh / Cambridge / NAD / etc.. When you talk about Yamaha and Denon, I really do not believe that you can really get wrong in each of them. I particulary like more of Yamaha versus Denon, I believe that ( for me ) the Yamaha sound is clear and it has more "punch" for the same money. Like to top of line of Yamaha is RX-A3080 something like 2K versus Denon AVR-X8500H - 4K or even Denon AVR-X6500H - 2.2K. For me, I testing the Denon AVR-X6500H is not the same as Yamaha RX-A3080 and it is cheaper. Yamaha looks like a tank, the quality of its construction looks and "feel" amazing, try to look and compare. Again, try to listen, if you have a good deal I believe you will be happy with boht, but for me Yamaha is better in general and I like its sound. I hope this helped.

- Answer yes this Yamaha receiver dose 7.1,2 or 5,1.4 setup and has all the new souround sound technicalogy, and you don't need a pre-amp, in less you want to use 11 channels then you will need a pre-amp.

- Answer Nick 68, I feel this receiver would be a good fit for your speakers. You don't want to push full power 24/7 to all your speakers, there is no need. I have some Energy Speakers/Definitive Technology and powers all my speakers very well.

- Answer i think you should be fine. but if your thinking about up grading to a 9.2 some day think twice ! the receiver will allow you to hook up all the necessary speakers needed but only has 9 built in amps to power up 11 speakers, i couldn`t get 1 pair to work at all. called yamaha and was told i should have bought the 3070 model instead which would have worked. good luck...

- Answer I DON'T THINK YOU WILL HAVE A PROBLEM ,MYSELF I HAVE A COMBINATION OF KLIPSCH AND POLK AUDIO BECAUSE I LOVE THE SOUND OF BOTH AND HAVE HAD BOTH MY ENTIRE LIFE OF AUDIO AND SURROUND.I JUST ADDED RF-28'S TO MY FRONT AND A SECOND KLIPSCH 12 IN. 400 WATT USD ALONG WITH MY POLK STUFF, BOTH HAVE THERE OWN FANTASTIC SOUND HOPE THAT GIVES YOU SOMETHING TO WORK WITH.

- Answer the only thing that could be different is the RX-2080 might have alittle more power, outher wise its the same as the RX-2070.
