We looked at both models and decided on the Yamaha. However at the price points we are talking about it is a matter of personal taste. It would be improper to say one is better than the other. I did feel the Yamaha had more video adjustments then the Denon, but you asked about audio. The Yamaha has a ton of audio calibrations you can tweak, and I am sure the Denon has similar.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I've owned the Yamaha 3070 for about a month now and wonder what could sound better in that price range. I have owned several Denon amps in the past but it was way before Atmos etc. I'm only using the Yamaha in 5.1 for now, so I'm not much help to your comparison. I bought the 3070 to try and be future proofed for awhile and it will do so much more than I'm asking from it right now. I have played many of my favorite surround recordings recently enough to know that I have made a really great choice over the Marantz that the 3070 replaced. You might have to compare the other features of both units you are considering to help make a decision. The Yamaha's Blutooth and it's own built in Music Cast server for speakers in other rooms is a big deal for me and very user friendly. There were some years when I was a big Denon fan that I begin to feel that they were going in the wrong direction and felt too lightweight etc. I'm at a point in life where I only shop the upper line of the major brands--ie Sony ES, Pioneer Elite, and Yamaha Aventage. I'm not sure where that puts Denon by comparison. The $2000.oo cost of the Yamaha 3070 puts you in a league with several choices. I probably haven't been much help, but thanks for asking just the same. CHEERS
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You’d have to listen for yourself to determine which one will suit your tastes. I prefer the Yamaha for its richer warmer tones.
