- Answer I believe you must update the firmware to the 1.53 version. That is the latest version at Yamaha's website.

- Answer I did have an older “scratched CD that skipped when I got the unit. I applied the firmware update and the same CD worked fine afterwards. The firmware update was very easy to install.

QuestionHow do you do the firmware update? Will best buy do it for me. I purchased this player today

- Answer Go to Yamaha's website and download the firmware update 1.53 to a blank USB drive. Then follow Yamaha's instructions to install. Its only about a 3 step process. Takes a couple of minutes. Best Buy might be able to do it for you but I don't know if they charge to do it.

QuestionI just replaced my 1990 Yamaha receiver with a new Yamaha and now my 1980's Sony CD player which was perfect before now has very subtle distortion like just some of the freq's are over driven (worse at low volume) will buying this CD player solve this?

QuestionHow does it connect to a stereo receiver. Does it come with any connections.

- Answer You can use the analog RCA connections on your receiver to the RCA terminals on the cd player. Usually red and white RCA cable for left and right channels. There are usually several sets of RCA terminals on the back of the receiver. Some are even marked as CD and or DVD inputs. You will need an RCA cable. They come in 3ft-6ft lengths so make sure it will reach. The cd player might even come with the cable.
