Can you hook it to an external antenna for the radio? null

I am not sure of this, but it may be an important question because the unit I purchased could not pick up a SINGLE AM radio station in the middle of the city, even with the provided AM antenna connected. All it picked up was crazy-loud static/hum. The input for the provided antenna is clips for naked wires, so any external antenna with that kind of “connector” may be attached.
