Referring to the specs for both, in the back of their manuals: Two channels driven: RX-V4A: 80W/ch @ 0.06% THD 90W/ch @ 0.9% THD STRDH590: 90W/ch @ 0.09% THD 105W/ch @ 0.9% THD Rated power consumption: RX-V4A: 520W STRDH590: 200W They're pretty comparable, though the rated power consumption should shed some light on how much total (across all channels) the receivers can put out. There's no way to get 725W out and only 200W in. The THD numbers may be important to you. The larger the number, the more distorted the sound.
