OP Here - It actually ended up being a weird but with my new TV (Sony X900H) that needed to have an app installed with a hard reset. It's since been fixed. The receiver is great!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Be sure to use high speed HDMI cables. HDMI cables that are capable of 4K and EARC I would recommend. This unit uses EARC which it uses to send data and communicate with other devices through then HDMI cable. The older standard HDMI cables can't carry the bandwidth. If you are not using high speed HDMI cables start there. They should say "high speed HDMI" on the side of the cable. If using a newer cable it could also be defective. Try switching out the cable with another. This receiver seems to have been designed to be future-proof more so than backwards compatible so if connected to non EARC devices the problem could be with that as well. Also be sure the firmware is up to date.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Don't be surprised if you encounter more issues. I have the same setup. The HDMI 2.1 chipset in the RX-V6A (and the X900H) are faulty/defective. Seems this receiver will be re-marketed since it is unable to perform as advertised with 4K/120. Be sure to file a claim with Yamaha as they still haven't addressed the issue as of May 2021; quite unprofessional.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Turn off your tv and your receiver then unplug both devices from the wall outlet for a few minutes. Plug them both back into the outlets and turn on the devices. See if this helps. I had to do this once with a Yamaha receiver. Mine worked fine ever since and I'm on older hdmi cables.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It seems like you are using ARC / eARC from your TV. The HDMI cable should be version 2.1 compliant and of decent quality, without that the return path can be spotty which sounds exactly like your problem.
