That is strange, I used this cable straight from switch to TV, and used a hotel wall USB port to power it, and had no issues.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I had the same problem, you MUST use the original power cable that was supplied with the dock to get this to work. I tried several USB C chargers and none worked only the Nintendo one.

However, I have found that if I power down the portable dock that I need to disconnect it from the Switch and then reconnect it on next power-up. Been using this thing for a while and it is fine; my dock was sent in for repair and its been a long wait, so i got this as a stop-gap. I've been happy with it.
