The keys have lights under them and they automatically come on when you type. The letters on the keys don’t actually light up as the light shines from around the keys. There is enough reflective light that I can type in a dark room. You are able to turn the light off or select from three different brightness levels. You can also change the color of the light between 7 different colors.
