Been waiting to getvne and upgraded disc player. This one is great.

Great sound bar to go with my tv, I like the features that go with it

Can’t make it through a movie without it freezing up and having to restart. It’s happened with every movie we’ve watched. With about 30 to 45 minutes left in a movie it’ll freeze up and you’ll have to restart the movie then scroll back to where you were, needless to say very irrigating.

Much like their competitors offerings this is the quintessential entry level model. On the one hand it does everything you want and expect from a 4K blu-ray player, on the other hand the same companies offering base models also all offer quite simply better models. The good news here is that rarely means that the base model isn't worth it, just that the better models have, well, quite simply better and more features. So if you don't mind fairly basic features, then this is totally legit. And it's coming via LG. Ok, same could easily be said about Panasonic & Sony models, but the point there is that it's a known quality brand. Obviously the general concept here isn't for those who've yet to upgrade to a 4K TV as well. If you still have a 720p or 1080p TV then just stick with a standard blu-ray player. By now, thanks largely to the pricing, most have moved on up to a 4K TV for their primary TV. That said, consider that while the newest generation of game consoles (Xbox Series X & PS5) will also play 4K movies and are becoming more and more available, if your multipurposing any game console for both movies and games, you're essentially cutting it's projected life expectancy in half. So if you can get a deal on a 4K blu-ray player, do so AND extend the life of your new game system. Or don't and know that you run a risk of overworking your game system. I mention this cause a common reason why 4K (and regular one's too) blu-ray players aren't selling that well is because everyone with a current gen game system just defaults on using it for movies too. It's great that they can, but it shouldn't be anyone's primary means to do so either. However all that aside here's a great & relatively affordable 4K blu-ray player. Definitely recommend.

Exactly what I was looking for, fancy but not too fancy

great picture and enjoying the clarity of picture.

Two main issues prevent me from using this on the day I took it out of the box this week: (1) the Settings/Setup menu refused to allow me to connect to my wireless network -- it only offer LAN direct connection and there was no option to navigate to wireless. (2) It worked OK for a test DVD and blu-ray disc. Then I inserted a 4K disc and now I cannot get any signal to the TV. I tried the reset option LG support sent me but the furthest I got was to get an initial menu but then - with no disc in the player - the screen immediately went black and again there is no signal. This is no matter what HDMI port I try with different brands of HDMI cables. I hope LG will authorize a return of this item to Best Buy with a credit for something else. There are too many negative experiences reviews of this machine and I would not trust even a replacement of the same model. LG, will you please allow me to send this back to Best Buy for a replacement of a better LG player?

This player not only is HD but it plays Blue Ray and Reg DVD’s!
