It has been working for me and has not been turned off. It has kept my produce frozen but I did notice that it builds up frost quite fast in the top part of the freezer. But other than that, it is a good chest type freezer for the amount I paid. It does say that it is not an auto defrost feezer.

I've learned to not over pack the chest freezer or else certain items remain unfrozen. I check the freezer seal often to ensure everything is working as it should. The basket insert is useful for smaller items.
