Performance is great, ram is plenty and the screen is great. The downside is I don't really like the way the grip feels and the triggers are oddly taller than the shoulders

Been wanting to find a portable platform to play steam games on the go for a while now. Was between this item, Asus Rog, and Steam Deck. I have been very happy with this platform, running most of my steam library on medium graphics settings, some games run maxed out. The battery life depends on the game your playing with most of the time I can play about 6-7 1/2 hours before having to get on the charger. The screen resolution is very sharp with the ergonomic profile fitting great in hands. If you are between this and steam deck, I would choose this option for convenience, ergonomics, and display size.

Snatched it on sale for $650 and this can handle pretty much anything you throw at it. Build quality is amazing: The grips, holo sticks and triggers to the big display, plus with the z1 extreme. I love this thing. Two cons: the fan noise and battery are pretty bad

I rarely take the time to write a review for a product unless the product was so bad that i felt i should warn other possible buyers. But this product is so good i feel anyone and everyone should be aware. Outstanding performance delivered by solid hardware and a gaming focused Operating system. This thing has reinvigorated my love of gaming and i play games now more that i have in a long time. Great for playing in bed, great for playing at a friends house, great when connected to the tv in performance mode and great on a flight in low power mode.

Awesome handheld! Pretty powerful and fast. The fans are a little loud when running bigger games and the battery life could be a little better but otherwise perfect gaming handheld.

I bought this as an open-box deal and saved a little over $100 off MSRP. In my opinion, the Legion Go S (SteamOS) is the best handheld you can get right now. It may not have OLED, but it does support VRR, which I think is more important on a handheld. Performance is excellent, and upgrading the SSD isn’t too difficult. Just clone your existing SSD to the new one (you’ll need an enclosure), swap it in, and don’t panic if the screen stays black for a minute—it will eventually boot and startup times will be much faster. The 8" screen size feels perfect. By comparison, the 7" ROG Ally X is too small, and the 7.4" Steam Deck OLED is close but not quite there. I added Dbrand joystick covers and the KillSwitch case (highly recommended), plus a matte screen protector since the display is very reflective. This isn’t my primary gaming device, so raw performance isn’t my top priority—I just wanted something more powerful than the Steam Deck OLED. SteamOS is also a much better handheld experience than Windows, especially since Windows sleep mode is still unreliable. My advice: only buy this on sale, ideally open-box. At full MSRP, it’s overpriced.

if you are on a budget and cant afford to drop 2000 and up on a high end gaming laptop or tower then this is a good budget friendly option you wont be able to run games on ultra settings or in 4k but you can run most AAA titles on 1080 medium to high settings smooth on a side note it has thunderbolt 4 compatibility what does this mean for someone thats not tech savy? it means you can connect an external graphics card or gpu and really turn this little machine into a portable gaming rig even have it docked on a setup in a man cave ect thats where these hand held pcs shine having an entire gaming computer that you can take with you is not clunky as a laptop and if you want a desktop experience you can dock it and it becomes a full desktop this is the future of gaming portability the technology needs a little more time but i believe this handheld gamig pcs will replace gaming laptop in the near future i 100% recommend for any one who want to be able to play AAA tittles on the go with ease to purchase this machine A+++

I did hours of research on different handheld gaming pcs. There are other ones with better performance and others that are cheaper. This one does everything I wanted for the fairest price. I’ve played BG3 which is a demanding game. It’s had “some” stuttering in the game but looks great and consistently gets 60fps on performance mode. The controller feels great. The only thing that could have been better is the touchpad. However I hardly use this so it’s not a deal breaker for me.

Finished Expedition 33 on it with relatively decent settings. Obviously more powerful than the Steam Deck, but a bit less stable and user friendly in my experience, so expect to do a little more tinkering. Overall, a great handheld PC. I wish the right analog stick was a little bit higher, but it's not a huge deal.

This was overall very good its more powerful than a steam deck with the same great operating system. Only downside is the shortish battery life but its not bad at all.

Please keep in my the size of your hands. I have average sized hands for a woman, with slightly short thumbs, but nothing crazy. Yet it was impossible to comfortably game on this. I am so sad that I had to return it because the screen was gorgeous, steam os was great, I really liked it. Yes, the tiny touchpad was slightly difficult to use, but I would have loved to keep this. However, this was apparently made only for people with large hands in mind because I tried playing for ages on several different games and, not only did it *hurt* my hands to use, the buttons were spaced in such a way as to make me clumsy with my gaming. I've not had this issue on other controllers, including the Xbox controller, something about this was just not made for anyone with average or small hands to use. All the reviews that say this is ergonomic actually mean it's only ergonomic for, let's be honest, male hands, which is an absolute shame that they couldn't find a middle ground for the button spacing.

Love the Legion Go for quick play sessions and the way it jumps straight into Steam. It boots fast and gets into games without delay, and the eight inch 120 Hz screen looks smooth and sharp. The Z1 Extreme chip and the generous memory make menus snappy and keep games feeling responsive, and the one terabyte drive gives real room for installs so there is less shuffling. The controls feel soft to the touch with precise inputs, and the body feels sturdy with materials that hold up well. After a few days the shell still looks clean, the buttons have a consistent feel, and the whole unit gives a solid in hand impression that makes it easy to use on the couch or at a desk. Battery life is the weak spot for me, though having USB C cables around makes it easy to top up between sessions. Storage or battery upgrades are possible but take patience and the process is more of a chore than I expected, so I plan to rely on the internal drive for a while. The good news is that day to day use is smooth, the instant start is reliable, and the software side feels stable with Steam at the center. The price sits on the high side, but if you will use it often the performance and build make it worthwhile, and the price for the quality is good.

I held off on buying steam decks for a while because I didn’t see the value and at first glance they did not seem to offer much value. Fast forward a few years and I will say that the technology has come a long way. This steam deck is more powerful than my current laptop. It is quieter and more portable. I did a lot of research on the best steam deck for the price and this is the one. I can play the most current AAA games better than I could on my 2024 g17 Asus ROG. Paired with a compatible docking station this will replace your console as well. If you are on the fence about buying a steam deck you will not be disappointed with this purchase.

This thing is a awesome!! No issues playing games and battery life is decent not great! But overall highly recommend!!
