I never would have thought that buying this cd 13 days later Prince would have passed away. I'm still in shock. However, I am so glad to own one of his many classic albums. 1999 is definitely a collectors item. Most everyone knows Little Red Corvette, 1999 and Delirious, but the song D.M.S.R. sums it all up. I recommend this to those who just want to understand why Prince fans refer to him as a musical genius. In short, 1999 is one of those albums that is always on repeat. RIP Prince.

If you hold the album cover up to a mirror, you will see "& The Revolution" in the image next to a football shaped object. Obviously, Warner Brothers were not happy Prince wanted to share credit with his backing band, but they are still the best musicians The Purple One has recorded with.

Prince was perhaps at his peak with this release. Originally DMSR was omitted but finally put on cd. Wish labels would remaster Prince is music from sign o the times backward. One can wish? Favorite song is Lady cab driver, to Yosemite sam and all the tourist in Disneyland.

First time I ever heard cussing in a rock n roll album, It didn't bother me I actually liked the cussing being 19 years old at the time. Today I still enjoy the cussing from this album with all the great music & lyrics Prince put together in 1999, his unique masterpiece.

I sold my original copy a few years ago, and it was a mistake. for 1982 this is years years ahead of its time, its 70 minutes, 9 tracks, the songs have greatest synth arrangements. This along with purple rain is amongst his best popular efforts

1999 was Prince's first multi-platinum album in the U.S. & in ways set the stage for what was to become his biggest success Purple Rain. For anyone just discovering Prince this is an important album upon discovering his catalog.

Prince is right on target with this cd. With songs like 1999, Delirious, DMSR, and more will make you want to get up on your feet and dance. A must have cd for your collection!!!

I have just checked online was so excited to get it and I went to the store an found this online was very excited to get it I love listening to in my car Memories!! back in the 80's

All the breakout hits are here, with Prince as the composer, arranger, singer, and instrumentalist. Automatic is particularly funky. Enjoy!

It's everything you expected/remembered from the clubs if you're in your mid-to-late fifties. Me? I was still in junior high.

Lots of classic tracks here. Unfortunately 1999 is sandwiched between more influential Prince releases, but this was a big step forward in the evolution of his sound and should not be missed. It is very long though, and not a great place for beginners to start.

What's there to say? There's a reason why you know many of these songs. It's one of the best by an artist gone too soon.

I have this album and wanted the cd. Never can't get enough of Prince. This is one of the best albums he ever made.

I love Prince. Great album. Too bad he's gone. He was a musical genius. If you don't own it buy it today...awesome!

I can't stop playing "Lady Cab Driver" for nothing in the world. Lol. I love this album.

Thankfully I found this CD at the Best Buy in Dallas. Since Prince passed, his music has been harder to find.

What is not to love about this album? Prince was near his pinnacle during the making of this CD and it shows!

I'm a 80's child, Prince defined the 80's. Musical genius: r.i.p. Party classics, Prince hitting his prime.

I actually bought this as a prize for our family bingos held on Mother's Day. It was well received.

One of the greatest artists ever! I would recommend this CD to anyone. Prince was my favorite musician .
