Extra protection for extra money. Most probably wont use it but you’ll never know. but mostly it is in the warranty which you could not read it not until you open what you purchased.

Your store is say that this 2 yr protection is not active and never existed even though you can clearly see that it was purchased

I've already used this thing once within the first 2 months and I'm exctactic that I bought it as I bought it on an open box item but it covered me anyways and I got my item repaired and returned to me in Aprox 1 business week so it's definitely worth the money and it lasts a loooooong time.

It so happened that I came to return a laptop I bought when I wanted to register it, it froze, and the only option was to return it. The manager came and asked what the problem was. I explained, and he said he would try to get it working again, and he did. He spent over 30 minutes and helped me from start to finish. I installed everything and am satisfied. He advised me to buy a warranty, since I bought an open-box one cheaply. I bought the warranty. Thanks a lot to manager Azan for his serious attitude towards customers.

Very helpful to have this option as we use our computer for homeschool and we need all the protection we could use.

Love Geek Squad. Very easy to file a claim / schedule service. Never had an issue when having to request a repair. Had to have a cracked Chromebook display replaced recently and was very happy with the process and result.

My laptops camera was not lined up with the screen so I couldn’t do Skype or zoom meetings or doctors appointments online so I the Geek Squad. They made the process as easy as possible and put me updated to the progress of the repairs. They took the stress out of the whole process and made it as easy as possible and I was truly grateful. I have health issues so they even made sure to work with me and that whoever I had picking it up, they knew they had their information to make sure it was going to the right person. They just had to show ID it was a good experience. Now the camera lines up with the screen and I’m able to do zoom meetings. Doctors appointments online. Take pictures whatever I need to do.

I usually buy the Geek Squad protection for my laptops. Geek Squad protection is not just for the laptops but Best Buy provides this protection for most other electronics or gadgets including Phones, TV and more. If you are looking to buy the Geek Squad protection and if you need more details or doubtful if you need to get one i am sure this review will be helpful for you. Pros: 1. Accidental damage protection - It covers almost all of the accidental damages including the drops and spills. My kid once accidentally dropped the Guitar on one of my laptop (screen) which caused the screen damage. The process was very simple. I had to take it to the Best Buy store after taking an appointment and they sent it for repair. But as the laptop cost was less than the repair cost they junked it out and provided me the refund of the original laptop. Its that simple and it gives a great peace of mind especially when we have kids or pets at home. I usually buy the Geek squad protection for the devices my kids own as well. 2. Hardware failure/ Normal Wear and tear protection - After the manufacturer warranty expires, the Geek squad protection kicks in. It covers any mechanical failure. Recently the touchscreen on my son's laptop stopped working. I took the laptop to the store and they sent it for repair and i got back the touchscreen LCD replaced with no extra cost for parts or labor. Its so good to be true. 3. Surge protection - Yes thats right. Even Geek squad protects your devices from Surge damage like from the lightening. You can probably take this protection for devices that are plugged in like Television or Desktop or Printers. Surge damages are usually expensive to repair but there are no worries if you have this Geek squad protection. 4. Dead/Bad pixels protection - Under certain conditions even the Dead/Bad pixels on the Laptop screen are covered as long as there are multiple dead pixels. 5. Battery Degradation protection - If the Battery fails to hold charge and falls below 80% the warranty kicks in. They will replace the battery at no extra cost. 6. No fees for parts or labor - There are absolutely no fees for parts or labor. This is the best part about this warranty. 7. No Hidden costs - There are no hidden costs or gimmicks. Everything is so transparent that one can take this protection with absolute peace of mind. Cons: 1. Geek Squad protection is little expensive when compared to the competitors. If you don't really care about this small difference you can ignore this. 2. Service updates - It will be nice if the service updates are real time. We get updates only twice. First time when we check in the device and 2nd time when the device is ready for pickup. For my first laptop that they junked out there was no communication for weeks till i reached out to them to know that they had to junk it out. It may not be the same for everyone. I am not sure if it happened just to me. 3. Data Backup is quite expensive. Please make sure to backup the laptop/desktop/phones before you take it for repair as they charge 99$ to backup the data. Atleast the cost for backup could have been reduced by 50% or so if we had the Geek squad protection. Having said that there is no cost for data backup if we take the My Best Buy Total membership. Verdict: Looks like a good bet if: a. The device is expensive, or fragile, or something you really depend on (laptop, tablet, phone, etc.). b. You expect you might drop it, spill something on it, etc. c. You’d rather pay up front for peace of mind than risk big repair/replacement costs later. Might be less useful if: a. The device is inexpensive, or you can easily absorb a repair cost. b. You don’t use it often or treat it very gently.

I've had this laptop for a little over 2 weeks now and it's a significant improvement from my old Windows 7 laptop. I got this for both college work and casual gaming and it works very well for both. So far, I only have Sims 4 and Stardew Valley on this laptop and I am able to use many mods and cc and still have it on the best graphic settings and it's able to handle both very well. The only difficulty I've faced with this laptop was connecting a Nintendo Switch Controller to use on Steam, had to watch a couple YouTube tutorials to troubleshoot the problem but it's been working great since then! It was definitely a good deal when I got in on sale, I would recommend it!

I always purchase protection plans for electronics over $800. Recently, I took my son’s laptop in for keyboard and trackpad issues. The trackpad wasn’t completely fixed, so they offered me a full refund, including sales tax. The whole process was quick and hassle-free. Definitely worth it!

Buying a new laptop can be stressful just trying to make the right choice, let alone worrying about any faults or issues that could arrise in the future. This is where Geek Squad comes in handy! Not only are they so much easier to deal with than other protection companies, but they are actually helpful! We had an issue with the laptop we got not even a month after we got it. I immediately was a little panicked because this was an over $2k laptop! Then I remembered we had Geek Squad so we gave them a call and got the problem fixed within not even 30 minutes, and the laptop hasn't had any issues since. We are still covered for another 2 years though! Sweet! For pricier purchases where you never know if the hardware could tank, Geek Squad is 1000% worth getting.

Great compact gaming laptop! MSI doesn't disappoint! The weight is perfect! Two usb-C ports. 2 usb-b ports. I like that the HDMI port is in the back! Makes running an external monitor easier to connect. Super excited to live stream my games and design on Adobe with the new 50 series RTC and the Intel Core 9 Ultra!

I enjoyed that I have a four year warranty on my computer when I can go back anytime and get things changed because having issues with the product can be very costly and unfortunate so having this warranty helps out a lot, especially if I have any questions with how to use my product.

For the computers we have bought at bestbuy this product has been wonderful. We got this and we needed after a year to figure out what was going on with the computer. They fixed it and now back to working flawlessly

The geek squad has been awesome for me. I appreciate the great attitude and understanding regarding my frustrations with my phone and computer. One of the most valuable services of Best Buy.

I got this for protection. If something goes wrong hopefully they can fix it. Its for my peace of mind. Can't give it a five star cause i haven't use there service, yet. Time will tell. Oh, they did set up my TV and speaker. There was a fee for them to set it up.
