    2 year Protection plan not found by Geek squad

    I brought a XBOX controller on March 2019 and used 2 yr replacement program to exchange it in August 2019. I again brought the protection plan in August 2019. However when I go to Best Buy or Geek Squad I am just turned back every time saying they have no records. I have logged into best buy portal and shown them my purchase history. Not sure what next steps are.

    I'm not sure where this review pops up seeing as I have like 10 of these on my account, but that in itself should speak to the value of Best buys extended warranty, I've gotten the extended warranty for basically anything over $100 that I bought from Best buy over the years,and in fact I'll go out of my way to buy certain items from Best buy just so that I can use their extended warranty because it is buy for the easiest and most versatile one out there, it's not as good as it used to be, although I suspect that they had to change it because it was rather easy to manipulate, although even today in its current form it's still worth it. Yes most items you buy nowadays come with the menu Factor warranty, but oftentimes the process of warranty and item is extremely painful, it often involves long conversations with people who oftentimes don't speak English, extremely long wait times, and having to ship something to the other side of the world and then wait for them to decide if they actually want to warranty your item once it gets there. for honestly not that much more that's why it makes it extremely convenient, for small everyday items like headphones and other things if anything goes wrong with it you can often go to the store and get it replaced at that day, with the same item or something better, for large appliances they'll come and pick it up or send someone out to fix it, usually in a very timely manner, honestly I could probably write a book on how many different times I've used the best buys warranty. If you're buying something that you have to physically put on your body, by the warranty you're more than likely going to break it drop it spill something on it, or just have some other weird malfunction because you're that large % of human beings that electronics hate

    I recently went to get both my xbox elite controller and my astro a50 headset replaced because they were malfunctioning. I was worried because 1) I only had 3 weeks of coverage left on the headset and 2) the xbox elite controller is now discontinued so I thought they'd try to find a loophole in order to refuse the warranties. Fortunately, everything went smoothly. They asked what the problem was with each device and that was it! I was given a gift card for the full amount I paid for the headset almost 2 years ago (minus the protection plan, of course) because they didn't have any in stock and they weren't able to order it either. As for the controller, they offered the option of a gift card, or ordering the elite controller series 2 and pay the difference. I chose to order the new controller and paid the difference with the gift card I got from the headset. Long story short, you will NOT regret buying this replacement plan.

    I forgot I bought warranty for my headset. It started having issues that firmware updates didn’t fix so I bought a different headset and I didn’t like it so I looked up when I got my original one to see if I qualified for the manufacturer warranty and to my surprise I had an active warranty through geek squad. I pulled up the info, went to Best Buy, and they ordered me a new replacement headset because they didn’t have it I stock. Everything took 2 minutes. Unbelievable. I always buy warranty for peace of mind and this is the first time I’ve used it. 10/5 stars

    We had a warranty on our Insignia TV and when it gave us a little trouble they were quick to make it right, replaced the TV AND gave us our money back! That one time was enough to make a huge impression on my husband and I that the warranties with Best Buy are great and you should ALWAYS get one. My husband accidentally dropped his Switch in a glass of water, or somehow it got wet- replaced! Controllers are always getting beat up by over zealous gaming or simply slipping out of ones hand, replaced (with the purchase of another warranty for the second controller, but oK) It is a great thing, they help you keep track- I really appreciate their protection of my wonderful electronics.

    What's not to love about having your product protected?? It comes at a cost but it is completely worth it!! The reason I started getting it is bc I bought a set of $150 Plantronics rig 800lx well I didn't get the warranty and they messed up within a few months and guess what??? Manufacturer never made it right. They where rude and just no help at all. It sucks bc I loved that headset and how good the sound was but I will absolutely never ever buy a set of rigs again or anything that has to do with them. They literally sold me broken headset and kept my money... NOT BEST BUY BUT (PLANTRONICS)

    Take care of your device. Within two years, if you've experienced any "NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR;" battery doesn't hold the same charge, audio quality is deteriorating, microphone is scratchy, USB cable doesn't charge the device anymore, etc. You will get the price of the product returned to you on a Store-Credit Gift Card. Go back into the store and buy the same device or another similar to it. Make use of this service, don't let it go to waste. Best Buy and Geek Squad are brilliant and utilizing their services will make your money go a long way.

    Best choice ever my children have the stealth headsets and they are great the only thing is that I am so happy that it is an option to purchase this extra insurance we have returned them unfortunately not because of reliability but because my children have huge heads and they eventually break due to being stretched so far. They also tend to pull them outward when taking them off which makes them ware more and break sooner. Overall no other complaints. Getting a warranty on something that you use quite often is just smart!!

    This is a good feature that best buy offers to all it's products, I believe. It's a pretty good service, I have not had any issues with the service or the squad. The best part about it is if something goes wrong with a product you purchased and you bought the extended geek squad insurance then you can take it back for a brand new one either of the same product or if that product has been discontinued then you get the upgraded or newer version that is out at that time. So I'd have to say I'm pretty impressed with that service. Well worth the extra money especially purchasing tech.

    I usually purchase Best Buy's GSP for high ticket items or those that I feel will have a higher probability of breaking down either during the manufacturer's warranty period or beyond but within the coverage period of Best Buy's GSP. It has never disappointed me - coverage is great and it usually involves either an exact (or equivalent replacement) or store credit (or gift card) for the purchase price of the defective item. I highly recommend this!!!

    Any electronic or big ticket item should be purchased with the Geek Squad protection. There have been a few times I have had to use the protection plan and Best Buy has always made it a hassle free experience. If you have ever had to “battle” with a company over their spotted warranty, you will understand the value this plan brings to the table. If it can’t be fixed, they replace it. It’s that easy. For only a few dollars added to your purchase, isn’t it worth it for peace of mind? Plus, when the policy is about to expire, some items allow you to extend the warranty for a nominal fee. What else can I say? It’s awesome!

    I know these plans are pure profit but I have two teen boys and I feel like these plans are very reasonable since they are spending so much money on electronics and gaming supplies. We've cashed in a few plans and Best Buy was super easy to work with on this. They have all of the information in their system so all I had to do was return the item and let them know what was malfunctioning. This was so much easier than others where you have to sign up online or scan receipts or whatever to active the plan.

    To Buy or Not to Buy at Best Buy?

    I am an electrical engineer and never buy extended warranties for consumer electronic products because if they fail it is usually in first 90-days rather than a couple of years. But I do buy insurance on my cars and home. Best Buy's pricing and terms looked reasonable and I do trust Geek Squad. So, I made an exception and bought this coverage on my new HDTV from Best Buy, We shall see in the long run...

    I bought the extended warranty for a Xbox gaming head set for my niece. With the hit or miss reviews as to reliability, I purchased the extended warranty. Sure enough, after about 6 months it was a miss. The physical quality of the headset was fine but the electronics for the mic failed. I exchanged the headset under this warranty and got a different, more expensive headset for my niece. The new headset was very well reviewed, Turtle Beach, but I purchased an extended warranty for it as well.

    2 years is an incredibly long time! So much stuff can happen from raging to a little kid not knowing and breaking by accident. Of course read the description so you know exactly what can happen in order to return them. But this has also helped me get a headset I would never think of getting because I could return my old ones that stint working return it get store credit and use that to get a better headset. So instead of playing $150 you could only be seeping $50 if you returned something that was $100. Love how long this lasts for!

    If I could purchase every product in my home from Best Buy I would! With a Best Buy warranty, you have the piece of mind that your investment is protected. Everyone knows Best Buy is prepared to meet competitor's pricing and that is a bonus for sure. However, I honestly end up spending more at Best Buy because I purchase their warranty and when available, their installation service too and I do not think twice about it. I have rarely ever had to use a warranty but the 1 or 2 times I have had to, Best Buy stood by their product with no hassle. They stand by their products and they stand by me. Best Buy is the best investment!

    I have purchased the protection on many things I own and have used it 4x over the years. Each time Best Buy has exchanged my item or refunded my money with absolutely ZERO hassle. 3 of the times I've used it was my own accidental neglegance. They ask what's wrong with it simply because they have to know for return purposes. They have even given me the option to upgrade to something else or exchange. If they don't have the exact item, they refund your money minus the warranty cost... Not a credit mind you but a refund. These things are what keep me buying it. It's the way a protection warranty should be. The only reason I give it 4 stars is because they don't prorate the unused portion of the warranty. I had about 1 year left on my SteelSeries wireless headphone protectection that cost $79.99 and had to pay for it again when I exchanged. It sucks but it's better than buying another $330 set of headphones so ya this is a must for me.

    Everything is expensive and you don't always want to keep buying the product over when it breaks. I just about always buy this on my expensive item it's not that i don't trust the company that makes the item because i always read up on the product before i buy it. It's just stuff breaks and part aren't made the same anymore. I work for a manufacturer and i know that just about all the parts are made by another company so you never know what they are doing a Quality. But this has been a great buy.
