I purchased a 4 year warranty on a Marantz av receiver. I have had power and Bluetooth issues. I own a Fitness Studio and was told I have to take it back to the store and wait up to or over 3 weeks to get back after hopefully getting fixed. I paid full price for receiver and warranty. I have to buy another one while it gets fixed no exchanges. I was originally told any problems bring back.

Just for peace of mind, I went with the extended warranty. I'm sure I won't need it, but it's nice to know I got an extra 2 years should anything go wrong.

With a large investment in equipment figured I better have some coverage, didn't know that it covered more than just the TV, good deal for what you get.

My Yamaha Aventage RX-A740 has been at the Chino Geek Squad service center 6 times now since march 2015, i am very dissatisfied with the service i keep receiving from them.
The last 3 times has been for some HDMI handshaking issues with both my LG 65 inch OLED E6 and Samsung 65 inch JS8500 which I know that the receiver is not HDCP 2.2 compatible but it left me scratching my head with the fact that everything is running in 1080P and not 4k to avoid problems as receivers are not that cheap to be replacing yearly.
With that said, the techs at the Chino location just keep doing "Factory Resets" and run very cheap tests with their Inginia 1080p tv's and cheap speakers to see that everything is working fine but thats after the Factory reset and send it right back to me in the same conditions.
I have been having nothing but problems with them and it's giving me a headache, what was supposed to be peace of mind has turn into a possible Aneurysm for me to NOT look forward to.
I've been Arguing with the techs at my local Best buy in Glendale,CA over the cheap work the Chino,CA Geek squad techs keep doing.
today 8/2/17 I finally got fed up eith the techs attitude problem after i called them because my receiver has been "in transit" since 7/26/17 and no one can tell me when it's going to arrive for me to pick up my $700.00 dollar paper weight that was dropped off on 7/23/17.
The Home Theater manager at Best buy didnt want to help me when i brough it in because he said it had to be shipped oit again to get checked. I was hoping to use the lemon law for a replacement unit but that might never happen as I was told by the rude tech that they have to "service the item with phycical parts" 3 time and factory resets are not part of the lemon law in their book of course.
I don't feel like hiring a Advocate/attorney just for a $649.99 defective receiver. I will probably lose even more money doing that.
Now, Because of the way i keep being treated and the techs poing fingers at my $4,500.00+ Klipsch Reference Premier 7.2 surround sound speakers as being the cause of the problem stating that one or all of my speakers are probably defective which they are not but, I proved it with a demo video from my smart phone showing the problem and they keep ignoring it even though I currently have a Yamaha RX-V663BL working with 5 out of the 7 speakers because it's only a 5.2 unit everything works so it's NOT my speakers or cables because if it was this 2008 model receiver would also have shorten out.
Matter of fact the techs keep saying it was my HDMI cables so I bought 5 $30+ dollar rocket fish cables to satisfy the techs and they still keep saying it's an issue on my end.
I found this service to be hopeless and I don't know what to do. I told them to please inspect the HDMI board to see if there is a lose soldering point and they did absolutely nothing!
The tech told me over the phone that all they did was connect their hdmi cables did a factory reset and all was working fine.
Once again pointing fingers at my other cables and gear. Well im not gonna spend any more money on HDMI cables!
I recommend that you stay away from the Geek Squad services when it comes to Tablets, phones, A/V receivers and tv's.
Bluray players and hand held Game Consoles seems to be the only thing they properly cover under warranty.
Because of this incident I decided to play it safe and cancelled both my Samsung JS8500 and LG OLED E6 warranties and got back over $1,200 dollars "prorated" that will be credited back in 7 days to both my Best buy card and credit card.
This was a very unlawful move from Best guy's geek squad and not even the main corporate line wanted to help me with this serious issue. I will never buy a warranty from them again, Yamaha let me knownthat it could be the HDMI board and yet when I mentioned it to the tech at the chino,CA location he gave me no recognition to my concerns like I was nothing to them. Well there goes $119.00 of a useless 4 year warranty which only provide factory resets. It's Not even worth cancelling it because I will probably not get anything back, as it is they want me to pay them $35.00 for shipping my receiver back to their store in their own branded shuttle van and I told the guy I will NOT pay for that as they did no phycical work at all.
