I really love this eBike. I have over 100 miles on it. You can use it in throttle mode or pedal assist. I almost exclusively use it in pedal assist mode. I use it in the lowest 2 settings and it helps me go up a hill and when the wind is blowing strongly against me. What separates GenZe from all the others is the "cadence" and "torque" sensor mounted on the the crank shaft. Its these sensors that make Pedal Assist so wonderful. The phone app reports to me that 80% of the energy is coming from me so I know I am still getting good exercise. The phone app is nice but not a deal breaker. I would have purchased the 100 series if it was on sale because the 100 series looks like a regular non-ebike. You have to look really close to see its a ebike on the 100 series. The phone app on the 200 series (this model I am reviewing) can distract you. I ran off the rode a few times and had a few close calls. Of all the stuff I purchased from Best Buy this has to be the most fun and best overall.

I have about 72 miles on the odometer at this point in time so I can give you a review. First thing is this bike is a lot of fun and it really does go about 19 to 20 miles per hour in throttle only mode. But the reason I purchased this bike is the "pedal assist" mode and it is absolutely fantastic. You see the bike has torque and cadence sensor mounted in the crank shaft behind the large sprocket. You have 5 modes in pedal assist. I have gone to more places then I have ever gone before on my bike. On one 17 mile bike ride I used the lowest assist mode 1 when the wind was behind me and mode 2 on my way back home against the wind. The pedal assist mode detected going up a hill and gave me a little push. Also, when the wind was really strong it gave me a little push. Very helpful. Lets talk battery life. In pedal assist mode 1 and 2 you can easily get 40 or more miles. My 17 mile bike ride I had 77% battery power and I used the throttle only mode several times to see how fast I could go. On a bike ride using pedal assist mode 1 and 2 only, 11 miles and I had 92% battery power left. With pedal assist mode you can go places you never went before and don't have to worry about getting back home. Now the phone app. My phones are used as tablets and are not connected to the phone network so I only have internet access at home via my WiFi router. That being said the GenZe app has 5 screens but I can only review the Home Screen because the other screens seem to want internet access. The Home Screen shows you the battery power in percent % and how many miles you can go given the pedal assist mode your in. It works very well. One last thing, in throttle mode only expect to go at least 15 miles. If your trying to decide between the GenZe 100 series or 200 series, the 100 series does not have Bluetooth so it does not have the app. The 100 series looks like a real bike and the 200 series looks like an eBike. If your going to use the app you need some discipline because I spend more time looking at the phone app and went off the path several times and had some close calls. This leads me to talk about helmets. I don't use a helmet but I use this eBike in pedal assist mode mostly. If your going to use this bike in Throttle mode you should use a helmet because 20 miles per hour is fast. Boy bikes vs Girl bikes. Potential buyers of an eBike have to forget about classifying a bike as boy or girl. Old fashion people classify a bike as boy or girl but in reality the girl bike a step though design making access to the bike a lot better. One advantage of the 100 series bike is since it looks like a regular bike and has hard points are standardized all the bike accessories will fit on the 100 series. On the 200 series the hard points are not completely standardized and bike accessories will need to be modified to fit. The phone app is not a deal breaker. What are my favorite features of these bikes? The pedal assist mode and the digital display. The digital display shows your battery power, speed odometer and odometer for how many miles you gone.

The build quality of this ebike is top-notch. Its torque-sensing pedal assist feature works perfectly. The only drawback of the GenZe ebike is not the ebike itself, but the lack of customer service. Fortunately, due to the high quality of their ebikes, one will not need much customer service. I was missing a minor part after the ebike was delivered to me, so I called the GenZe Customer Service. Well, GenZe's customer service phone number was rarely answered. When I finally received the missing part through snail mail, the envelope that was supposed to contain the part was empty with an opening at a corner. So obviously the part fell out through that opening during transit to me. The customer service rep. followed up with an email asking me if I had received the replacement part. I replied by stating what had happened, and the rep. said that he will send me the part again. I, however, never saw another mail from GenZe again. So that's their customer service. Not really a big deal, but I figured that I should point out my interaction with GenZe. Aside from my bad experience with their customer service, the ebike rides great. The battery charges fast, and the range has exceeded my expectation.
