Built to fail
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Built to fail. Started off great but the blades snag on my short beard after just a few months, and the plastic trim that holds the trim/hair guides on the shaver is built to fail. The trim guides now come loose if I don’t keep a finger on them.

Finally a way for a man to get himself groomed
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is somewhat difficult to talk about as it is embarrassing to some degree. As we age, we lose hair in places we wish we had it, and get hair in places we don't want it. For example, our backs. Yuck, I hate back hair but until now I didn't have a way to get rid of it myself and didn't want to ask my wife, nor did I feel comfortable going to a place to have it done. This tool allows me to get my back hair removed, and they include a handle extension be able to reach it all. What an amazing thing to think of and build. It also allows me to remove other body hair that I want to get rid off without having to rely on someone else to help. While I have used razors before to do some of it, the typical razor pop up blades are sharp or completely ineffective unless you got the exact angle. And that was painful when the blades were hitting sensitive areas. While it is rated at an hour per charge, I haven't had the tenacity to go that long. I've got years worth of grooming to catch up on but only go about 15-20 minutes at a stretch. So far though, that 15-20 minutes is effective use vs. hit or miss with previous razor attempts. Give it a try, because I know based on my own experience, nothing has worked this well with other attempts, and this is designed for this purpose. It is what they call "purpose built". As for the quality of the design and materials, I'd say it is what I have become accustomed to with Philips-Norelco and that is great quality.

BodyGroom 3500
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Norelco BodyGroom is a solid fully waterproof body hair shaver Things I like: - the power button placement is perfect. - you can shave in both wet, and dry settings. - advertised battery life is 60 minutes which was more than enough to shave back, shoulders, chest, and groin area. - the long back attachment is actually useful, and the best thing is that its detachable when you dont need to use it. - it has 3 guards that I have actually used and liked (not ridiculous size attachment that doesn't actually trim any hair) - battery life indicator. - if you have any other phillips norelco shavers, you can use the same charging adapter acroos the norleco family. things I dont like: - it does not come with a charging station. - it doesn't come with a storage bag. - shaving hard areas like back can be inconsistent and not precise. - seems to struggle a bit with thicker hair. - have one speed only (no Turbo button) - if battery is dead you cannot use it while charging.

NOT SO CLOSE
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My first thing is why would you make a shaver with tools and not make a stand or a bag to keep everything in, I guess that's what ziplock is around for! For straight up shaving my face this product does not get close enough, I still have to use a straight razor but in fairness most shavers I have owned have never gotten close enough. My facial hair grows in all directions and really course so I'm not sure if that has something to do with it or not. I have a beard that I do keep short #3 and my hair is course, this shaver does a good job going right thru it, doing it's j-o-b. I used the extender on my legs just helps not to bend, I used #2 because don't like smooth legs for men and the hair on my legs are fine. Again Shaver worked great inside the extender pretty cool. My chest hair is fine and I had to make a few passes thru it but it cut to length #3. Arms also fine used #2 and cut fine. I don't have hair on my back but this would be IDEAL for someone wanting to shave their back or trim it down. Battey so far-only been a couple of weeks but it's been great long lasting I have two teens that have been using it too. I never used in the shower or got it really wet to test it, I'm Scared lol!

Works pretty well!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great shaving tool! First of all, it's very versatile. It can trim and shave both forward and backward. It can be used as a wet or dry shaver as well. The set comes with several guides and also an extendable arm that allows people to shave their backs. This makes reaching difficult angles more easy! All in all, it's a great tool!

Reach the hard to reach spots :)
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Full disclosure is, that I have never owned a product like this. I have always thought about getting a razor for grooming, but for one reason or another have not. That out of the way, I have hard to reach back hair and have always had to ask my wife for help ( Thanks Hon!!). Now, this product does the trick. The design for the attachment that extends the razor is well thought out and easy to use and understand. Now I can do this without asking my wife for help. :) The 3 attachments for trimming your hair are also included. I have not used this just yet, as I have just had a haircut but will update you on this when I do. I have read about the bi-directional cutting and this will be helpful when switching from right to left hand without thought of which direction to hold the razor. Again Norelco has made a very well thought out product that I find absolutely comfortable using and the results are very surprising as well. The closeness of the shave is great, very little stubble and the razor also keeps the hair on the blade for easy cleanup. If you haven't used one of these I recommend you go out and get this one. You won't be disappointed.

Great Shaver. Detachable Long Handle
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Philips Norelco 3500, like all Philips shaving products, is EXCELLENT. Rechargeable, easy to use and provides a very close shave. The major differentiator with the Norelco 3500 is that it has a removable/detachable wand like handle. The handle is made of hard black plastic and the Norelco 3500 clicks in firmly. It gives you the reach of a back scratcher - so you can reach to the middle of your back (from over your shoulder). So if you need to also shave your back, this is the razor for you (no, I don't need to! lol). Also in the box are 3 combs so you can shave to the needed length.

Great addition to my shaving kit!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first body shaver and overall I am impressed. You do have to charge the shaver when you open the box, mine was completely dead but it does charge within an hour. I started with my face and I got a close shave on my mustache and chin area. Be careful for the outer part of the shaver, sometimes they can feel a little sharp. Next I did my arm pits. Make sure you shave in different directions, up and down, side to side and diagonal. I also got a nice close shave. Finally, I shaved my leg area. This part of the body, I was not impressed and why this review is a 4 out of 5. The shaver worked great removing the hair but it was not a close shave like my facial and armpit. I moved the shaver back and forth like the instruction manual stated but it didn't get as close that I wanted and hoped for. But it did however get majority of the hair, so technically it did do its job. I also did not like the clean up. You have to take the blade off and rinse and I was not able to separate the pieces to get the hair completely out. When I turned the blades at an angle and rinsed, I could see the hair coming out of the small hole. Would I recommend this product to a friend? Yes, it worked great for facial and underarm and it will probably work great on someone else's legs.

Great attachment for back hair!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Philips Norelco 3500 is a decent groomer that can be used on most of your body. It comes with a back attachment that makes it easier t shave hard to reach spots on your back. It can be used both wet and dry with or without water, foam and gel. It is marketed for men but it can be used by women as well. For trimming, there are 3 combs for different hair lengths. The charge lasts for up to 60 minutes. This is a good body groomer at a great price point.

Useful, but not practical
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Philips Norelco - 3500 Wet/Dry Bodygroom - Silver provides a convenient way to keep your body clean of unwanted or well-managed body hair in a cost-effective package. The trimmer worked great for my face and around the hairline, but the extension arm to trim the body seemed clunky and awkward. As with all Philips/Norelco products, it works well and is generally quality, but I did not see the practicality of it for my personal use. PROS - Name-brand quality - Works well for basic trimming needs on the face and hairline - Holds a charge well and long battery life - Extension arm for those who need it to trim body hair CONS - Practicality in question - Extension arm seems clunky I would recommend this product to those who are in need of regular body-hair maintenance, but not for general usage for face and hairline as there are other products which would work better for these purposes.

Practical & Effective!!!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This trimmer is perfect for hard to reach hair on your back, honestly that is exactly what it is designed for. The extended handle is so inventive and makes my life so much easier! It also provides a very close shave for a body trimmer which is a huge plus. Sometimes it can pull a little, but slowing the pace can prevent that.

Great Groomer!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Definitely the best body grooming device I've used. Well designed with a nice curved handle that locks in place. Battery life is good (rated as 60 minutes of run time) and it charges quickly. I like the length of it as well. Being 6'3", I've had groomers before that just were not long enough. Not the case here. All in all, a great groomer.

Good body hair trimmer.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This trimmer is designed for chest, arm pit hair, and sensitive areas. It does recommend using one of the included guides when using on sensitive areas and it’s a good idea but not 100% necessary as long as you’re careful. It comes with an extension for your back, but thankfully I don’t need that part, so can’t speak on how well that part works. The battery charges fast and seems to last for quite awhile. I’ve had it for about a week and a half now and I’ve used it three times and still haven’t had to charge it. For the price point I am very happy with it.

Great shaver but 2 blades gets a little sketchy
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Shaver performs well both dry and wet (in shower). The extension handle is a little gimmicky but I imagine it would work well for taller folks (I haven't had much cause to use it). Aside from the typical shave screen (for closeness) it also has *two* shave blade ends (reciprocating blades) which can get a little scary depending on where you're trying to shave. Their thinking is to go both forward and backward instead of one-way when shaving. The guides also reflect this ability but I found they had too much friction and I was left "skidding" when trying to slide them. Overall the ability to shave both wet/dry is definitely a plus, and the closeness is decent.

Excellent starter grooming kit for the price
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been using the Norelco 3500 series trimmer for about the last two weeks, and am pleased to say that this has been pretty great to use. First thing I should mention is I have generally coarse, straight hair, so if you happen to have curly hair, I'm not sure how well my review will speak to your experience. That being said, I thought the 3500 series is an appropriately outfitted starter set for trimmers. What I mean by that is that it has a decent range of guards (three, to be exact) that will suit most mainstream body grooming styles. Sometimes the guards can slow you down - in some situations you have to go over a particular area multiple times to get an even cut, but you won't have to worry about unexpected deeper shaves. In this respect, I agree with prioritizing safety over efficiency. Speaking of safety, it's water resistant, which is much appreciated. I haven't had to use the extension handle, but it feels sturdy. I've waved it around a few times. Just make sure you hold down the side buttons before you attempt to open it or else you'll break it! Battery life has been great so far, and obviously your mileage may vary. I haven't needed to recharge it in the two weeks I've had it, which total out to roughly an hour of use by my estimate. My only thought for improvement with the Norelco, and this is minor, is that it doesn't come with a travel bag. It's a small complaint, and it stems mostly from my years of owning Norelco products that came with a travel case, which is important when you think about how easily you can lose these guards. Otherwise, I think it's a great product. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a good starter kit.

Great for Shaving, Okay for Trimming
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I primarily got this for beard trimming as I don't usually shave all the way down to the skin so my review is mostly based on that. The trimming blades are nice and rounded instead of pointing so it's more comfortable and a little less irritating on the skin. The tricky part is the angles. It works well, you just have to be careful otherwise the foils will shave off your beard instead of just trimming! Waterproof feature is neat, but I don't shave in the shower. Grip is comfortable and fits well in my hand.
