I have seen some pretty amazing 360 videos on YouTube, but this fisheye effect was overly curved & exaggerated. Not happy at all with it. I have only used it 2 or 3 times & not at all worth it. I would take it back if I wasn't past the exchange date.
Don't waste your time.

360 does what is intended but picture quality is far inferior to other sport cameras. I did not get the 4K version and this was on sale for $199, so I picked up to try it out.

I purchased this thinking it would be really cool to have for indoor events but its really not. Its really more for outdoors. Hard to tell what the camera is shooting since there is no way to see without a screen.

I expected a better camera that could take video from all around. The video quality is not that great and the 360 title is misleading since it does not go all the way.

This little video camera does an amazing job of capturing more of the moments that you would like to remember. It is almost like being in the moment again since you have the ability to look in all different directions.

This is a very cool concept, and I am sure I will enjoy it more as more editing options become available, but if you are used to working with GoPros, these are a different animal.

Thank you for the review. It definitely takes getting use to working with 360° videos. Hopefully, you were able to try out the editing features in the Mobile app. You can edit, add music, fast/slow motion and share directly to your social networks. Keep us posted on your progress.

This is my first 360 degree camera purchase and I'm happy to report that it's unlike anything I've experienced from a camera before. The camera design is beautiful and definitely stands out. The resolution of the camera could be better if this is going to be the next evolution of video, but it's a good start.
I was really intrigued by the apps built in virtual reality. It's a little difficult to set-up in the goggles, but after the orientation is configured it's pretty cool. My son (11yo) loves to watch himself so that's entertaining.
The set-up is fairly simple, although I had trouble connecting the camera to the app. I've also experienced a few app crashes during my video edits... So that's kinda annoying.
Overall I've been happy. It would just be nice if the resolution was better. It's certainly not a professional camera, but it's 100% worth checking out if you're interested in 360 degree video or virtual reality. As long as you don't need your videos to be professional quality, this product is for you. I'm excited to see the improvements that hopefully come with their next generation.

I had high hopes for this product, based on internet reviews, but it did not live up to them.
1) The packaging was maddening. The fly comes in a cylinder, the top, clear, half of which comes off easily. Then you unscrew the camera from the mounting plate. Then you can't figure out how to get the rest of the contents out. The answer is to simply pull up on the mounting plate. I figured this out after destroying the packaging.
2) The quality of the videos is low. I found that the best focus was obtained with objects at less than 12 inches from the lens.
3) It's a full auto camera. Auto gain. Auto white balance. Auto focus. Pro-sumers will understand how that's a problem. You will, too, once you watch the camera change the white balance on the fly (no pun intended).
4) The dynamic range is narrow. That is, if you're filming in a room with a window, the window will be extremely hot.
5) As advertised, the camera is not 360x360. There's a blind spot. A cone directly behind the lens. If you shoot with the lens aimed at the zenith, the blind spot is handled by the Director as a simple boundary. If you shoot parallel to the ground, the blind spot takes the form of a black circle.
6) The cable that came with my product was faulty. Tech support answered the phone quickly, but said that it was a known problem. They're sending a new cable. Lucky I had another on hand.
7) The lens is insanely easy to smudge, and not that easy to clean.
8) There are instructions for resetting the camera. Mine went dark after about an hour's testing. I recharged it first. Then reset it. Seems a little early for resetting.
9) The editor is primitive. You can trim the beginning and the end, but that's it. I'm investigating whether there's a plugin for Adobe Premiere Pro, because I need advanced editing tools.
10) The YouTube file format is not supported at this time. They say it will be out soon.

The camera only has one lens so for you to get "360" the camera has to simulate the immersive experience and it just looks distorted. I went with the Ricoh Theta S (basically the same price) and has 2 lenses, which results In a lot less distortion and a more "real" 360 playback experience.

Great Concept, Still needs work

All in all, I believe this is a great concept for the future of video. I applaud 360fly for their aesthetic design and implementation of a new product. It truly is a head turner out in public. 360 video is a great new avenue with much growing competition which is why I believe this product still could use some work.
I do not like the fact that they do not support open sharing on other avenues other than Facebook and twitter. Youtube is a major leader for viewed content and they support 360 video. It is frustrating that all editing is essentially done in an app that is constantly shutting down on you. When you look at go pro and these other action camera companies, the editing possibilities are endless.
Now a small sidenote about the resolution....very mediocre in an era where almost any new device is capable of atleast 2.7k. I did notice a lot of blurriness on video from the outer edges of the lens. Granted the technology might not be there yet for a lower price point in action cameras.
I will end this by saying that it is an alright camera for being something completely new however at the price of $399 it needs to be a little better in resolution and have better options for editing and sharing. If they can fix these issues, I would have no problem recommending it for people to buy. Until then, you can get more for your money.
