I was so excited when I finally purchased this camera as it would allow me to capture the off loading of expensive equipment. What a disappointmentX
Uses wifi so you burn up your data when transferring video to your phone. So why not use the computer instead? Read on.
Shot a video that was about 4gb and wanted to transfer it to my new macbook for analyzing. Could not get the stupid camera to connect! Went so far as to tell me that my computer did not meet the requirements.
Ended up returning the camera. Huge disappointment.

Camera Design: The design of this camera is fantastic. It's beautiful and easy to use. Love pulling it out of my bag of toys. 5 stars
Video quality: The resolution is not what I'd expect from a $400 camera. GoPro and others like it blow 360fly out of the water when it comes to resolution. There's a lot of improvement to be made. 2 1/2 stars
App: I downloaded the app through the Play store. The app walks you through the camera set-up rather easily, can be used as a view finder, has editing tools and has a virtual reality option. I have experienced a few app crashes. 4 stars
Overall Thoughts: The camera is one of a kind. There's a ton of untapped potential and it's clear 360fly is on the right track. I've had a lot of fun capturing with this camera and playing my videos back using my google cardboard, but there's more to be desired in terms of video resolution. The quality isn't by any means intolerable, but as I mentioned before, I'd expect more from a product that costs $400.
If this if your first camera save your money and buy a GoPro. If this is your secondary camera purchase and be amazed at all the angels it captures and the virtual reality you can watch. The resolutions just not there yet to be an every day camera. With that said, I'd still recommend it because it's the first of its kind and incredibly innovative.

First off the camera is cool. Its 360 degrees that dazzles when viewed on the Facebook or Youtube. Here's my issue. And its a big one. Software Software Software. I figured since there is a 2 minute limit on video uploads(files are very big) I could at least trim a few different movies then add them together to get to 2 minutes. Nope. I figured that the desktop program for PC would be much more than a simple trim deal. The mobile app is much more detailed however its close to impossible to edit if using your fingers for the slide. I like this. Sorta wish I wouldve waited until things get to be more supported but buying this was the early adopter in me. If expecting to go out and make some cool edits or videos over 2 minutes, this is not that camera right now. If you just want to strap it on your head or bike and go riding or walking for 30 minutes than come back home, use mobile app, generically trim a video to two minutes without too much thought into detail, this might be for you. Im very regretful that I bought this to be truthful. Was hoping for much better software tools. They will come in due time but so will the price. Right now I still have this debating on a return. It's cool but not $400 cool only for a generic 2 minute video. It will get better with time though. Software Software Software

I use my 360fly camera every single day. I commute on my motorcycle and it's fun to edit the footage at the end of the day and make Instagram and YouTube video of my encounters. I only use my iPhone and my iPad, so I can't comment on computer requirements.
I upload my footage from camera to my iPhone 6plus every day. I upload it over the wifi signal. Uploading footage this way does NOT use your data on your phone plan. I have a small 2gig plan, and I'd go over that limit on the first day if wifi used the data plan. I'm not sure why other reviews think data is used.
Facebook and Youtube both support 360 videos, again, not sure why people comment that they do not.
Just because it records in 360 does not mean you have to make 360 footage. I very rarely do. When editing the footage in the 360fly app, just pick which direction footage you want to be shown (eyeball icon). Once you learn the apps mechanics, it's very simple. You can move the angle to any direction you want as you watch and edit the video. In "eyeball icon" mode, it'll save the footage in the direction you were watching it. From there, save the footage, and the open in iMovie (or your preferred app) and do whatever you want to the video as you would with any other footage, like from phone, or GoPro, etc. No doubt same thing applies to Android users, save it, then use in your movie making apps.
No, the camera isn't a true 360, but it's dang close. The ONLY direction the camera does not record in is straight down. That's where the mount is anyways, so it's irrelevant.
Anyways, the 360fly is great camera, you just have to take the time to learn it. Once learned, it's very simple to use, much easier than a GoPro (still love my GoPro though). My only complaint is after editing, the best I can get is 720p footage. Maybe that's because I use my iPhone, I'm not sure. I plan on upgrading to the 4K version once funds allow for higher quality. If you're using a GoPro and record in 720p, that's about what your 360fly footage will look like.
Most of the negative reviews seem to be from people who never took the time to understand how to use it. You have to get through the 360 barrier, but once past, it's not any different than any footage from any other camera.
Anyways, hope this helps people. I personally would recommend springing for the 4K model though, unless 720p is good enough for you.

not great, on a really sunny day set on a tripod you will get good quality video. Bright area with a mono pod or selfie stick , still good if your steady.
However if you use it like a go pro and mount it on a car or bike I get a lot of distortion. My first tests where on a motorcycle , every bump causes very bad distortion, video was just unwatchable. Double images , lens burn and digital distortion, mounted on the car same results.
If your looking for a 360 action cam this isn't it yet.
One of the example videos was on a fender of a dirt bike . I can't get any where near that quality while moving.

I wanted an spherical camera to capture and sharing my vacations and I saw this one advertised on a Best Buy e-mail. My general impression is that this is not a finished product and still requires a lot of work.
Video quality: video is not good and I think it is not acceptable in this age of HD videos.
Photos: you cannot take any, it only shoots video. I wanted to take photos since I share more photos than video.
Sharing: you can only share 2 min videos and if you use 360fly page you can only share 200 megs.
Iphone app: it is fair, you can easily configure the camera.
Video Editing: it is just trimming, there is nothing else to it.
Design: it is a very beautiful camera, the only problem I found is that when you are trying to shoot in dark spaces it is a little bit difficult to find the button. By the way don't shoot night or dark spaces, you won't see anything worthy since your video will be all black screen with one or 2 lights. The lens is very easy to smudge.
Overall: if you have very low expectations and you can spare the money then go ahead. If you are expecting good quality I would recommend to wait and see what 2016 has to offer.

Ive been shooting on th e360fly for a few weeks now and I'm very impressed with it. The build quality is solid and feels good in the hands. This thing is pretty awesome. When using the free app it come with, you truly get an immersive experience that you just can't beat.Using the action mounts I felt 100% confidence using on cars and motorcycles. Operation is simple and easy to figure out rite out-of-the box. Seeing the footage I've shot really give you a 360 experience that no other cams offer. I can't wait to try out the VR possibilities

Wow. After an initial issue opening the package (keep the camera on and lift to access all of the accessories), the experience has been remarkable. My first use was cycling and I was able to capture the moves among other riders on the turns. Much more intense than my old GoPro. Also, easy to play back on my phone and share short clips. I used to have hours of GoPro video and did nothing with it. The app is easy to use. Highly intuitive.

I've never waited for a product for so long and been so happy that I did. Set up was a breeze, and the features on the mobile application (I have an iPhone6) were much more extensive than I thought they would be with 360fly's intro. But the best part was when I had a simple question about how to share a video, I called Customer Service and I swear I think they thought they were talking to a King. Now all I need to do is get used to not having to "point" a camera. This puppy captures everything. It's awesome.
Now I need to try that Director thing on my laptop.
