    Gaming worthy

I read reviews prior to the purchase of this item to replace an ailing 32" Tv that was used mostly for gaming. It wasn't hard to set up and the graphics of the game are vivid compared to the older set. The graphics of the games are crisp and clear. And the Roku is nice to have on it also. Our 16 yr old can watch or play his games, leaving our Tv free for us. We are happy with this purchase.

if you have no other options, you'll live, but....

I bought as open box (I've bought plenty of open box that work perfect). HDMI ports don't work, and tv resets itself after apps open (at least in netflix, amazon and sling- those are the ones I use the most) it seemed convenient at first, but the home screen isn't appealing and ALWAYS what comes on when you power on so I wouldn't recommend if you plan on having actual cable (DTV or cox) HDMI ports never worked (I didn't know this until >14 days after, I guess I didn't think to test a new tv). I've plugged up Xbox One, roku and firestick and they all crackle in and out. Recently, its been resetting itself to the home screen once a movie starts more and more. it's not even 6mo old.

    lacking audio out quality

Picture is fine, remote is fine. The signal from the 1/8" analog audio out is horrible,. I ran it into a nice boom box, and with both devices maxed out, it's not rlly loud enough.. We're actually looking into returning it just because of the audio out issue. Why they don't make RCA a standard analog audio out is beyond me.

    Be Aware of ROKU TVs!!!

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I purchased my second ROKU TV (Insignia™ - 39" Class (38.5" Diag.) - LED - 1080p - Smart - HDTV Roku TV). Upon turning on I was prompted to register with ROKU. After entering the code I received a call from ROKU demanding a $99 "registration" fee. This was NOT disclosed anywhere on the box/paperwork or for my previous TV. I was told it is a new payment starting in January 2018. I am not sure if it is a scam (there are articles online about this) or if Best Buy is aware of it (they indicated they have heard of previous examples) or if people are just paying the fee but it is NOT required for ROKU. Be advised!!! Best Buy did exchange the TV (Thanks) for a non-ROKU one.

Worst TV ever and no customer service. DO NOT BUY

First of these TVs I bought wouldn't stay connected to my wifi network. They wanted me to bring it into Best Buy to be repaired. I don't have a car. The TV is too bulky to take in, anyway. And I had no box. I'm not paying for a cab to take it in. AND BECAUSE THE TV IS UNDER 43", THEY WON'T SEND SOMEONE TO MY HOME TO FIX IT. After many calls and much discussion, they sent me a new TV. This one is defective as well, with an entirely different problem. Again, they want me to bring it in. They will do no real trouble-shooting at all. It's going in the garbage. What a piece of crap.

Not really a TV - a roku with a screen attached

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I read the reviews on the Roku bit, the screen, the sound, and so forth, but it didn't occur to me to review the remote - remotes have been common on TVs for fifty years, after all. Anyway, I was very surprised to find out, once I got home and set up the TV, that the supplied remote has you use the "left" button to bring up a screen of the 80 or so over-the-air channels we get here and has you scroll through them to finally select what you want. Stuuuuuupid. Called Insignia on the 877 number and was told their "Universal" remote (even though Best Buy says it does work and offers a half-off discount if you buy it with the TV) will NOT allow you to directly change TV channels either. Stuuuuupid. The TV picture, sound, etc., is "OK" but this is lack of direct access to channels is a deal killer for us. And, if you lose the remote, or, it breaks, there are no "back up" buttons on the TV to operate it until you get another remote. Stuuuuupid. Poor Best Buy... Not their fault, really, but it is their problem to take care of when this gets back to the store.

    Buy a maintenance plan!

16 months and the wireless gave out. First time after TVs for kids, college, extra rooms, etc - that I've had a system fail so quickly. Called to see how Best Buy would handle this since I have never experienced a failure in a system just sitting on a table so quickly. Got the "Tough Luck - buy a new TV or a Amazon Firestick - it cannot be repaired". If you don'e need to access Netflix, Roku, Prime or any other internet programming system - this is a good monitor. But reliability is not a strong point for the wireless.

The color red is only half the resolution of the other colors. It makes some things look really bad as a result, especially if you hook a computer to it and look at cleartype text.

I bought this tv two months ago before I moved. Since owning it, I have not been able to hookup my cable to it and whenever I am watching Netflix it will freeze every five minutes or so and I am forced to turn it off and turn it back on. I honestly just want to return this tv, it is so infuriating.
