This is a must have item for your 3DR Solo and want smooth video.

I purchased that as a back up to my original that is still going strong. So invested in this platform that I did not want to be without some backup. If looking at this you have to understand this is in a league by itself due to the integration with solo and its onboard computer. No other gimbal can work in harmony with its flying components as this gimbal.

I'm still in the learning stage but I am noticing that the GoPro 4 Silver connected to this gimble sometimes tilts itself to the left so I am getting a difficult to use picture. I also wish they would have made a conversion kit for the new GoPro 5 that has been out for a while now. Otherwise no issues and Im about 3 hours of use with this gimble.

Impressive! I was a little worried when I flew Solo for the first time in the wind. In all fairness, 10-15 mph wind gusts didn't seem to be a problem for Solo but I was concerned the footage was going to be shaky. Totally impressed with the smooth footage I got from that flight!

This gimbal works good for the Solo, don't get me wrong, but with the form factor and the decision for 3dr to move to enterprise (read $10,000 entry level for commercial drone application with the same, off the shelf Solo), it's the best we've got. If you are buying a Solo, this is a must for video, which most people are wanting to shoot nowadays.

This came as part of a package deal when I purchased the 3DR Solo during the most recent sale. Makes my GoPro footage smooth and beautiful. Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is because my first gimbal did not work at all. Returned and was mailed a replacement overnight. Happy with my purchase!

This gimbal is a must have for the 3DR solo. I realize what is happening with the solo, however it is an open source drone and this gimbal works properly (as it should) with the drone. There is even a thermal camera that will fit in the gimbal.

I bought the 3dr solo on sale and the gimbal was included for free. This product seems to work best with the GoPro Hero 4 silver or black. I've read that there are some problems with GoPro 5 when used with this gimbal.

Since the solid mount is pretty much useless, you need the gimbal to shoot any type of videos with the drone. I wish it was upgradable to accept different cameras . Only GoPro 3 & 4 is supported and not 5.

Being this is currently the only gimbal for the Solo it limits the review. But realistically this gimbal works great for what it was intended for. With the GoPro 4 Black your results will be good.

you really can't use the 3DR Solo without this gimbal. I mean, you can but the footage out of the GoPro will not look great. With the gimbal it's an amazing aerial camera platform. Better image than any Phantom prior to the Phantom 4.

When I bought my 3DR Solo I decided against getting the gimble. The images were okay but not great. I decided to get the gimble a bit later and I'm impressed with improvement in the images.

Works great. Simple plug and play setup. A little bit of a pain to get it fastened to the drone. Only can control 1 axis of the gimble. I thought you could turn it from side to side as well but you can only pan it up and down.

I had the drone for a few days before getting this part. Everything was good but after hooking up the new gimbal I am unable to see live video. I am still trying to figure out if it is user error or something with the drone.

Gimble is easly damaged in crash minus one star.Solo is an amazing platforn for photography.Unfortunatly it's discontinued got it for 1/4 original price. Open source and being upgraded by lots of 3rd party creators.

This is a great item if you want do do serious filming, it allows for steady shots when filming, camera rotation from transmitter and let's you use more types of shots on the drone.

The camera mount that comes with the Solo is only good for seeing where your going on your phone/tablet. This is a must if you want to shoot quality video. One star taken off because the quality could be a bit better.
