Was expecting this to work wit my GoPro Hero 3+ Silver edition which it says it does on the website. Come to find out it only works the the GoPro Hero 3+ Black edition and above. Hopefully the website will be updated with current and correct information.

The Long awaited 3DR Solo Gimbal has landed at Best Buy! I bought My Solo back on 6/25/15 and like the rest of us have been waiting for the long awaited GIMBAL to arrive, Well the Wait is over and all I can say is I'm 100% satisfied with the new 3 way Gimbal, steady shot is amazing I showed some people a video of me hovering in place for like 30 seconds and they all were saying when is the video going to start? That smooth... Setup only takes about 10-15 minutes there are online videos that you can watch before you install it, they even give you a screwdriver to use in the Gimbal Box, Make sure all your firmware is up to date before you install your Gimbal and make sure your GoPro is also up to date with 3.0 version software, the gimbal is truly setup for the Hero4 Black Camera but will work with the 3+ and the black 4 Silver. I had some twitching at first but after talking to 3DR they had me cycle the unit a few times and now she is worry free. 3DR and Gopro have hit it out of the park with this one. and with 3DR support team you cant go wrong.

I could not view anything when flying the drone, I was told it was because the gimbal was bad. Made my drone experience even worse.

This item is the wrost i have buy in a long time. I won't recommend to anyone

I can't even describe how great this is to use. Close your eyes and just imagine the most perfect gimbal and how great it works with your solo. Well keep that thought because its only in your imagination that this gimbal exist.

If you own or are thinking about buying a 3DR Solo, you have to buy the gimbal for it. Video is smooth, picture are better. It is a must.

I did a lot of research before purchasing a drone! The SOLO seemed the best bet... let me tell you... I was right.. I am very happy with my SOLO with the GoPro 4 Black and Gimbal setup. I also bought the 3DR backpack to transport it and all my accessories.. DON'T BUY THE KNOCKOFF BACKPACKS! GET THE 3DR BACKPACK! IT IS WELL WORTH THE $$$$$!!

I have owned this for a few weeks and flown in many different conditions. Wind, no wind, fast and slow. As an idea this is a good gimbal. In practice, not so much. The video is full of jitter. You might not see the flaws when filming in low res or viewing on a small screen like a tablet or a phone. But when filming full 4K and viewing on a large 4K screen it becomes painfully evident that this gimbal is useless for stable high res video. This is 3DRs first attempt at building a gimbal and it shows. Some of the technical solutions that are contributing to the poor performance is attaching a very rigid HDMI cable directly to the moving part of the gimbal. It transfers vibrations from the frame to the gimbal as well as hindering the free movement of the gimbal that is necessary for it to do it's job. Would not buy again.

This is an absolute necessity for your 3Dr Solo! This gimbal takes your video to a whole new level of expertise! I was simply amazed at how it stabilized the video! It is as if you are floating on a cloud! I would not operate my Solo without one, and the reduced price makes it even more desirable! If you are new to the Solo this device will allow the GoPro Hero 4 Black to be controlled from the Solo remote. I have the Hero 4 Silver and can start and stop recording from the Solo transmitter as well as get the direct video link to my IPhone or tablet.

I thought the Solo did a pretty fair job at taking nice video (not professional) before the addition of the Solo gimbal. Once I installed it I realized just how much better if could be. The quality out of the Hero 4 Black in conjunction with the gimbal was simply stunning. It is amazing that an amateur can capture such great shots and scenes with this equipment. With the current sales going on, run do not walk to get yourself one or two of these for your Solo. You will not regret it one bit.

Pros: Light weight. Apparently cannot be damaged by wind or a crash. Weighs literally nothing. No impact on battery life at all. Cons: Hard to locate under the Solo (I feel around under there for hours, cannot find it!) Does not seem to stabilize the image as much as I'd hoped. Controller can't connect to it right. If I try to move it up and down with the little paddle thing on the remote, it says "Solo gimbal not found", although it's clearly moving (as shown by the display). The wide-angle lens on my GoPro is so wide, you can't actually see the effect of the gimbal movement in the video. Overall, I think you should buy this. A Solo is simply incomplete without it!

It is the best. It adds absolutely no weight to my Solo. Kinda like its not there at all. Kudos to the 3DR team for coming up with something that seems non existent.

This unit is extremely lightweight and nearly invisible. As a matter of fact I cant even really see it.

useful attachment to the drone. this is my first drone and really like it.

After re-installing this 3 times it still did not work. I found a good install video I have to completely take apart the solo to install it.- PLUS Your videos will still not look pro with this. Customer service is bad too - 3DR took 5 weeks to replace my drone and gimbal and the replacement did not work any better. BAD PRODUCT!
