Not going well
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this monitor for about 2 weeks. Replaced my other just because this one supports Hdmi 2.1 for my PS5. So far it goes black for about 20 sec when turning a game on. Then last night it started having lines all over the screen. All connections are good and intact. Just the monitor acting up

A great monitor with big problems
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I loved this monitor while it worked. At the time of purchase, I paid about $400 and it was worth every penny. It had great colors and viewing angles. The adaptive sync function worked pretty great with both Nvidia GPUs I used it with, although I did run into an issue of the screen turning black occasionally for reasons that I still haven’t been able to identify, but I have experienced other AMD Freesync monitors exhibiting this behavior with Nvidia G-Sync and this one in particular is certainly not certified as G-Sync compatible. I absolutely loved the size and the curve of the panel. This was my first ultra wide gaming monitor and I find it difficult to go back to flat panels. It really helps immerse you in the content on display. I also like the little included features like an on screen FPS counter and an aim point overlay. This biggest gripe I have and the reason for one star is that this monitor just stopped working one day in the middle of a gaming session. It still powered on. Audio still passed through to the built in headphone jack. Even the panel backlight was still running. The LCD panel just turned off and never recovered. Even the OSD menu wouldn’t appear. I tried several cables and two different computers before giving up. Apparently this particular family of monitors from AOC has a potential defect for this exact type of failure. In my case, it lasted a year and a half. Luckily I had a Best Buy protection plan and took it into the store. They handed me a store credit for what I paid for this monitor and I took the chance to upgrade. Even though AOC usually has a good track record with their monitors, I would recommend staying away from this specific model. If you do decide to pick it up, get a protection plan to go along with it because you are rolling the dice on a dud.

Bought new monitor, received scratched open box
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this same model as it is a really good display, but unfortunately the monitor I was an open box model that was scratched and marked down to $299, clearly not the one I purchased. Didn't even come with the original box. Very disappointed that BestBuy would make a mistake like this. Other than that I know for a fact that this monitor is outstanding. Just a fair warning that if you purchase from BestBuy, you should make sure that the product that you are getting is new and not in bad shape.

Defective out of the box
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased two of these monitors on Sep 20 2024 for occasional use in my motorhome. The purchase was based upon existing reviews / total cost vs amount of expected use. On Oct 17 2024 turned the monitor on for the 1st time. The upper right corner looks like an old CRT monitor that has been cracked. Defective straight out of the box. Best Buy return policy is from Sep 20 to Oct 5. i.e. 2 weeks.

Worst "Replacement" Plan in the planet.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There was a time when I never hesitated to go to Best Buy for anything, and I would get the "Service Replacement Program" to cover my bases. However lately Best Buy Geek squad representative get all defensive and accusatory when you bring a product for "replacement". I had a 43" monitor that I somehow the screen was damage. I brought it to Best Buy the same place where I went at least 4 times to get information about and where I was urged by the sales representative to get the "Replacement" plan, because it is a peace of mind. He said it not once, but multiple times, YES SIR it will cover accidental damages, you dont want to buy something this expensive and then accidentally break it and lose all your money. I did go home and ordered the monitor online and got the "replacement" plan. Well, not only the plan does not cover accidental damages, but today the Geek Squad Agent carelessly said, maybe you did not understand what the sales person said (like having an accent immediately is a reason to not clearly understand), and then said, well it is what it is. It wont be covered by our insurance. A left angry because I felt lied to. I lost $1,000 on this transaction. But in the long run Best Buy lost a loyal customer who has bought, computers, tv, appliances, video games, watches and so many other things over the years. Very disappointing

False Advertising
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Falsely advertised as having speakers. Do not trust the Best Buy specifications. Contacted AOC directly and they confirmed this model doesn’t have speakers. Best Buy support double down saying the item does have speakers wasting your time even more give people misleading advice how to get the non existence speakers to work! Will shop elsewhere.

Very disappointing Geek Squad service
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am extremely disappointed with the service I received from Geek Squad at both the Altamonte Springs and Sanford stores. I called because my Samsung monitor is having issues — it’s not displaying pixels correctly, G-Sync does not connect properly. I clearly explained that I had purchased the Geek Squad Product Replacement plan, and expected a replacement option as promised. Instead, I was met with bad attitudes and was told they would only replace my monitor with the exact same model, and that I could not choose another monitor even if I paid the difference. When I asked for store credit, as outlined in the terms of the replacement plan, they told me it would need “approval” from them. This is not what the plan describes, and it feels like they were intentionally making the process difficult instead of honoring the replacement policy. I paid for a replacement plan — not a repair plan — and I expect Geek Squad to follow through on the terms of that agreement. The lack of professionalism and willingness to help was very disappointing.

Best Buy Can't Ship Products
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought two of these, Best Buy sent one with no hardware to put it together, and the other in a 57 inch monitor box with the hardware free floating in the box. It was saran wrapped in between two other boxes for some reason, and not in either of them, and the corners were sticking out. I have no idea how it is as a monitor. It seems less nice than the ones I've purchased on Amazon.

Purchased a new monitor, came with used parts.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I opened up the box which appeared to be brand new, but there were old components with masking tape and handwriting on them. I was unable to assemble it and missed the return window - clearly my fault but that just sucks. Now I'm stuck with this crappy monitor. Not very happy. I'll try to work with the geek squad to get it assembled and hopefully I can make it work. I'm not holding my breath

Nit worth purchasing the geek squad protection.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the monitor with thr geek protection because the representative stated all damages were included. I even asked if it protected cracked screen and the rep said yes. I went ahead and purchased the protection. Well guess what, the screen to the monitor cracked so my son drove 40 minutes to an available best buy ans the employye there stated that the damage screen is not under the protection plan. I feel like Best Buy be scamming people. Its not worth geeting the Geek aquad protection when its not going to cover anything. What a joke!

Don't get the 4-year Product Replacement Plan
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First, I will say that the people I interacted with were completely patient and helpful, without being condecending. However, the product, like many insurance products like this is not worth it. I bought this coverage with the Ultrasharp 27 inch monitor. Within 11 months the monitor stopped working. Of course, when I brought it in, the result was the monitor needed to be replaced, good thing it was covered right? Yes, except for this insurance plan is a one and done. Once used it on the replacement, the coverage ends. So I spent 1/5 of the price of the product for coverage that could have been addressed with the manufacturer warranty (which was never suggested by Geek Squad). I rarely get coverage because of stupid aspects like this, I did because of the price of the monitor this time. Should have known better. Support online said I could get refunded for the protection plan amount at the store, when I got to the store, they said I'd been misinformed. Giving up and telling as many people as I can not to get this insurance.

Unacceptable and not worth it
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Worst Decision ever. Needed it for my monitor because the remote was defective. Said I’d have to ship the whole monitor with remote for 6-8weeks smh if they can’t fix the remote than additional turn around time for the refund,

Not A good decision to buy Geek Squad for Monitors
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Total Rip Off. Scam. Zero Need to purchase this; it will not cover anything that even just looks -like accidental damage -despite the sales clerk saying it would cover it like a small screen crack to sell me this useless insurance. 3 months into using the product - somehow a crack formed in the screen (i absolutely never touched it) but was told very dismissively by the Geek Squad tech they won't even look at it. the very lousy attitudes by geek squad techs at pentagon city is a different concern all together. Worse decision ever to go ahead with the recommended coverage plan.

||Posted . Best Buy's prices are AWFUL for insurance!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Best Buy's "Geek Squad" is very too expensive on all products. It wasn't always like that. A decade ago, it made sense to buy insurance at Best Buy. It is no longer like that. You can buy a "4-Year Insurance" from other stores such as Amazon for the same price as what Best Buy charges for a "2-Year Insurance." There is simply no doubt Best Buy overcharges on insurance. As a result, I no longer buy from Best Buy regarding major appliances and electronics. Plus, the Geek Squad insurance is outright terrible. I bought a 61" TV and the entire lower corner of the TV had a green spot on it. Literally 25% of the TV was constantly green at all times. But the Geek Squad person that game to my home said this was acceptable and forced me to keep that defective TV set. Best Buy also recently refused to honor their service on a large 75" TV I bought. I talked to the Geek Squad and even "corporate" when I talked to an incredibly rude woman named "Helena." I will never buy any form of product at Best Buy ever again after this terrible treatment from Best Buy.
